Lyon manager Bruno Genesio has admitted that some members of his squad, including Liverpool target Nabil Fekir, could play their last games for the club this weekend.
The Reds are understood to be keen on landing the French playmaker as they up their efforts to recruit a replacement for Philippe Coutinho following his January departure to Barcelona.
Fekir will be out to help Lyon secure Champions League football ahead of next season by helping his side defeat Nice at the weekend.
Genesio, as quoted by the Irish Independent, spoke to Lyon’s official club website and reiterated the importance of the Ligue 1 clash, whilst also making reference to how Fekir could be about to play his final game for the team.
We have to put aside everything related to emotion. For some, this may be the last game. It must give (those players) even more strength because you have to say: (I will) leave by qualifying this team in the Champions League.
There is also the World Cup. The very great players are able to ignore all this. I think Nabil will play a big match on Saturday.
Lyon want to keep hold of their star man beyond the summer transfer window but it seems as though a big move could await Fekir, with Liverpool waiting in the wings.
