• The Tampa Bay Rowdies have a long tradition in American professional soccer, with their team and colors having graced the old North American Soccer League of the 1970s & 80s and the league’s recent reboot. The current Rowdies are captained by former England star Joe Cole.

• Jacksonville Armada are playing in their first Open Cup as a member of the NPSL, but they’ve played three times as a part of the North American Soccer League (NASL) and they went all the way to the Fourth Round in both 2016 – then coached by former USA National Team legend Tony Meola – and again in last year’s Open Cup finals.
