Jurgen Klopp to leave Liverpool in 2024
In December 2019, Jurgen Klopp signed a contract extension to keep him at Liverpool until 2024.
This weekend, Klopp has given an exclusive interview to Germany’s SWR Sport, in which he’s confirmed his plan to leave Liverpool when his current deal expires.
Klopp revealed that he has a clear plan for his career: “Four more years at Anfield”, and then he’s going to leave.

Klopp also revealed his three options for what’s next after Liverpool.
Do nothing for a year… (or) perhaps (I’ll join) a club, a national team, or nothing.
But in five years the world can look very different again.
The Liverpool manager also revealed his interest in returning to live in Mainz.
Klopp is considering becoming the Germany manager
According to Sport Bild’s head of football, Christian Falk, Jurgen Klopp is interested in becoming the German national team coach in the future.
Moreover, the German FA would be keen on Klopp taking the position.
Jogi Low is the current manager of Germany. His contract expires in 2022.
What Klopp currently thinks about the global pandemic
In a separate conversation in his interview with SWR Sport, Klopp also offered his thoughts on the current status of the global pandemic:
The development of the numbers is positive, but people are still dying.
(But) it’s easy to criticise if you’re not responsible. You have to wait and see.
We should make sure that we are better prepared as a society – and I mean global society.
