Portugal, on verge of Wolves deal, next rumour likely lined up

Earlier this year, Wolves announced their intention to sign Diogo Jota permanently from Atletico Madrid, but they’re leaving things later than the player would probably prefer.

Balances of accountancy encourage Wolves to wait a little longer, and last week Jota was quoted as saying: “For the next season I still have nothing defined, I still have nothing signed.
“I want to stay. Everything that has happened this season leads me to believe that the next season can be good for me in the Premier League but, as I said, nothing is signed yet and I can’t give anything for granted.”
It can’t be long now before Wolves make it official and pay Atletico, if only to sooth the minds of fans and Jota alike.
Friday showed what a good player they have on their hands, with Saturday’s editions of Portuguese newspaper spitting out praise for the youngster.

The player, who spent last season on loan at Wolves, captained Portugal’s U21 team to a 2-1 victory over Italy, and A Bola named him Man of the Match. It’s Record, however, who give the most praise, saying ‘talent overflows’ in his double-act with Diogo Goncalves.
Jota scored twice, assisted by Goncalves, and the latter scored once, assisted by Jota.
Record say it’s clear, when Portugal’s U21 team need goals, they ‘call the Diogos’.
With the pair working so well together, it can’t be too long until Diogo Goncalves is linked with a move from Benfica to Wolves. It wouldn’t be the first time, last summer it was claimed in Portugal that Wolves were ‘waiting’ for the player to sign.
