Ahmed Fathi to decide on future with Al Ahly within the next 48 hours

Al Ahly player  informed the club’s board that he will make a decision regarding his contract renewal proposal in the upcoming 48 hours.
Fathi’s agent, Nader Shawky, previously addressed the situation saying that negotiations were going well. The veteran right back was set to meet the Red Devil’s management last week but the meeting was postponed after he went on a break with his family.
On Monday morning Fathi finally held a meeting with several club representatives including the Planning Committee president Mohsen Saleh, director of football Sayed Abdelhafiz and head of the transfers committee Amir Tawfik.
According to the club’s statement the Ismaily academy graduate was offered a new contract and is expected to make a final decision within the next 48 hours.
Fathi joined the Red Devils coming from Premier League side Sheffield United just after one season in England. After signing for Al Ahly he joined Kuwaiti side Kazma SC on a short-term loan before returning to Cairo where he became a vital player.

The 35-year-old then remained in the Red Castle for the majority of his career a part from a six-month loan spell at Hull City in 2013 and spent the 2014/2015 season with Qatari side Umm Sulal.
Fathi lifted over 15 trophies with Al Ahly since joining them and is showing no signs of slowing down as he captained his side to the CAF Champions League semi-finals this season and helped remain unbeaten in the  before it was suspended.
