The Bavarians are gunning for their 14th league victory of the season as they travel to Cologne where they’ll face in-form Billy Goats on Sunday lunchtime.
FC Koln vs Bayern Munich Match Preview
The Billy Goats had a week off as their Bundesliga clash against old rivals Borussia Monchengladbach was postponed due to dangers posed by storm Sabine; despite that, their position is mostly unchanged, 13th place on the table and rapid return on winning track, as they dismantled declining Freiburg 4-0 just before the break.
Following a disastrous start to the season and just one win in six league games at RheinEnergieStadion, Markus Gisdol woke his men up from slumber and the Goats went on a winning run that last to this day; four victories in front of their own fans, including huge scalp v Leverkusen, the one that started this streak.
FC Bayern were held to a goalless draw by RB Leipzig last Sunday evening; the Bavarians were dominant in the first half whereas the visitors had the better chances after the interval, but ultimately neither side could break the deadlock.
Hans Flick’s men may have been held up from advancing on the battlefield but the keys to winning the war are still in their hands as the Bundesliga despots remained on the top, with one point dividing them from closest challengers in Leipzig’s Red Bulls.
On the road, under Kovac, champions of Germany stuttered, dropped points where they shouldn’t have but things have apparently went back to normal as FCB got their third consecutive win on the side, now demolishing opponents even outside of Allianz Arena, just like in the good, old days.
Anthony Modeste, Mark Uth and Thomas Kessler are missing this one for Die Geißböcke, Ismail Jakobs and Niklas Hauptmann are fighting virus whilst Elvis Rexhbecaj and Christian Clemens just recovered from nasty injuries and most likely won’t feature so early in a match this important.
Alphonso Davies, Ivan Perisic, Javier Martinez and Niklas Süle are only ones unavailable for the trip to Cologne at the time of writing though Joshua Kimmich might also miss out, as he’s apparently fighting bad case of cold.

FC Koln vs Bayern Munich Prediction
Bayern and Köln, despite their differences, have one thing in common. Both of these sides gets more fired up after the break, scoring two or more goals in the second half on multiple occasions across the season so there’s no reason to doubt them about this.
Also, the Billy Goats are really trigger-happy in recent times, netting (and/or conceding) at least four goals in their last three league outings and Bayern being Bayern, goals are guaranteed so I’m positive this two will gift us with another memorable afternoon.
