The runner-up spot is at stake as these two take the pitch. A nail-biting encounter is surely on the cards as both teams teams will go at each other with full might.

However, considering the overall domination of City in the last two years, and the way they dictated proceedings in the reverse fixture – the upper hand goes to Manchester City.

Leicester were held to a goalless draw on the road by Wolves the previous match-day.

While credit goes to the Foxes for securing a point in spite of being on the road and playing with ten men on the pitch, it was their third winless game in a row, and the sixth from the prior eight attempts. 

After the terrific form Leicester were in this season, the team is now finding it hard to maintain their level at the top. And to pile on it, they are now supposed to take on the hurt defending champions, Manchester City.

And as is known, it’s never a good idea to take on a frustrated Pep Guardiola, and his boys.

They are also placed above the Foxes in the league table, despite playing a game fewer, and have scored the most number of goals of all the teams in the contest.

Going on, the Citizens had also won 11 of their prior 15 overall fixtures, and 18 of their last 25 at home.

Most importantly, they had also won the reverse fixture 3-1, and had clearly dominated Leicester all through that game.

On the other hand, the Foxes have a total of two wins from their past eight overall match-ups, and two from their last seven home matches.

City had recorded ten of the past thirteen h2h wins, and have lost at this venue just twice in the prior two decades.

Finally, only once since 2000 have the Manchester outfit failed to score at this stadium. Considering all these findings, expect a winning performance from Manchester City.

In terms of goals though, Leicester should get involved in the party. They have been one of the best teams in the competition this season, and also were champions three seasons prior.

In addition, the Foxes have scored the third-most number of goals in the contest, and have failed to score just once in the last 14 match-ups. And this game was against Liverpool.

Furthermore, City had failed to keep clean sheets in 10 of their prior 12 overall games on the road, and in 16 of their preceding 20 overall fixtures.

Taking these observations into account, it’s adjudged that goals could be expected from both teams this weekend.
