Transfer Rumors: Liverpool, PSG In Race For Thiago Alcantara's Services

Thiago Alcantara is looking for a new home and Liverpool F.C. has been singled out as a possible destination. But with no formal offers yet on the table, Paris Saint-Germain is joining the mix with the two clubs engaged in a mad race to meet the asking requirements of Bayern Munich.
PSG is prepping to pitch to Bayern for the services of the 29-year-old player, Le 10 Sport reported. Der FCB has set a $35 million price tag on Thiago, the minimum amount they would want for the Spanish football player, Bild reported.
Thiago would be a great addition to Liverpool although Jurgen Klopp has a couple of players rising to the occasion. Curtis Jones and Naby Keita have shown remarkable improvement and adding someone of Thiago's caliber could expand the options of the Klopp next season.
When asked about Thiago, Klopp seemed to be keeping everything close to his chest, He admits that he has no idea on which players he would have next season and referred to Thiago only as a great player.
"Thiago Alcantara is a great player, but also a Bayern Munich player. That's all there is to say. There's nothing to say!" Klopp said.
After playing for seven years at Allianz Arena, Thiago announced his decision to leave the Bundesliga giants. He has won 14 major titles with Die Bayern since arriving in 2013. That included seven consecutive Bundesliga titles. He does have a year left in his current deal but the Spaniard wants a change of scenery.

Thiago's decision to move out of Allianz Arena was already relayed. This was confirmed by Karl-Heinz Rummenigge in a previous post. However, Bayern has yet to receive any formal offer for the central midfielder.

"Hasan had talks with Thiago. They were always very positive, but he told Hasan some time ago that he wants to do something new to finish his career," Rummenigge said. "So far no club has contacted us. We don't know if he's settled things with a new club."
Despite his wish to leave Der FCB, Rummenigge is not entirely closing the door for a possible contract extension. If Thiago is decided, Bayern is ready to move forward without him.
