The Barcelona superstar outdid even his high standards with the stunning strike in the below video
Lionel Messi scored an absolutely stunning free-kick in Argentina's 3-0 World Cup qualifying win over Colombia on Tuesday night.
The set-piece, which you can see in the above video, was converted in just 10 minutes and hit the back of the net from more than 25 yards.
Messi was under pressure to perform given that Argentina went into the game sixth in the South American qualifying table.
And the Barcelona forward didn't disappoint, assisting two more after scoring at the Estadio San Juan del Bicentenario.
As you can see in the above clip, the 29-year-old stands over the ball before smashing it high over the wall and towards goal.
The strike takes Arsenal shot-stopper David Ospina completely by surprise and slams against the underside of the bar before hitting the net.
Atletico Mineiro's Lucas Pratto scored Argentina's second after he headed in a cross from Messi after 23 minutes.
And six minutes before the Barcelona maestro picked out Angel Di Maria who finished to put his side three goals ahead.
The result ends a four-match winless run and sees Argentina go fifth in the table - the play-off spot that would see them face the winner of the Oceania group.
