After two losses Slovakia are hanging on for the best in their group qualifying for Russia 2018. Their overall form has been poor with 3 straight losses coming to an end when they brushed aside Scotland 3-0. A win here would be massive for the nation though and would breathe new life into the group.
Right now Lithuania are looking hard to beat and very solid in 2nd place on ahead by two crucial points over Slovakia. The team are now unbeaten in 4 games but there is more than meets the eye here as three of those matches have been draws. Their draw curse stopped when they beat Scotland.

The teams have met for a total of 4 times in all competition in the recent past. Three of those ended in draws, while Slovakia edged a 1-0 win in their first ever meeting on 0ctober 1994.
They also met during FIFA World Cup qualifiers of 2014 edition and Lithuania ended up as the happier side after earning a pair of 1-1 draws. Interestingly, all 4 goals during the two legs have fallen inside the first 45 minutes.

This encounter is screaming the draw and history says this too and this could be what we are going to witness. It’s interesting to look at the half time market as a draw just in case the second half surprises us and opens up. It’s also worth looking at few goals to be scored. This is not a striking fixture to get too excited about but that doesn’t mean we can’t profit from this game.
