SuperSport United are engaged with one of their star players in the hope of changing his mind over his future at the club.
This website has been reliably informed that SuperSport are in talks with Dean Furman to reconsider his decision to leave the club at the end of the season.
"The club and the player are currently talking about a possible extension of the contract and things look promising," the source tells KickOff.com.
The club's media officer Brian Moshoeshoe confirms the reports and says he is a very important player for the team and a great leader to the young and upcoming players.
"The coach mentioned that it's between Dean and the club. Our CEO Stan Matthews mentioned that they are still talking with Dean but it's in his hands," Moshoeshoe says.
"It's ongoing talks, as our CEO has mentioned. We will see because unfortunately Dean is our captain, a team player and a motivator to younger players.
"The club will make an announcement and Dean is enjoying his football. This is his home and Dean wants to play in South Africa, especially for SuperSport United.
"But whether there's an offer or not, if he stays, it's up to him and the club."
