Lazio vs Hellas Verona: Match Preview

After a sub-par performance in a 1-1 draw against arch-rivals Roma in the Derby Della Capitale, Lazio got back on winning ways with another 5-1 victory at the Stadio Olimpico.
This time around, Simone Inzaghi’s boys smashed SPAL with goals from Immobile (2), Caicedo (2) and Adekanye.
The Roman outfit are enjoying an excellent campaign so far, winning fifteen of their twenty-one Serie A matches.
A victory on Wednesday would see them leapfrog second-placed Nerazzurri.
The Biancocelesti are boasting a fantastic home record with nine wins and two draws to date, netting an astonishing 3.18 goals per match and conceding 0.82 in return. They have won their last seven home fixtures with a combined goal difference of 25:5.
Hellas Verona extended their unbeaten streak in the league to six games following a 1-1 draw at San Siro against Zlatan-less AC Milan. Well-coached Scaligers have earned twelve points during that span, beating the likes of SPAL, Genoa and Lecce, together with three draws.
With 30 points on the board, they’re sitting at 9th position in the Serie A standings, just two points off the Europa League spot, currently occupied by Cagliari.
The Wednesday’s guest has recorded three wins, three draws and four defeats on their travels this season, averaging 1.10 goals scored per match, whilst allowing 1.20. They have racked up five points from their last five road games (1W, 2D, 2L).

Lazio vs Hellas Verona: Prediction

There is no value in taking Lazio at 1.40 here. Instead, I will take goals on both ends as I’m confident Verona will find the back of the net at the Olimpico – they have scored at least one goal in each of their last twelve league games.
As for my second pick, I’m going with Over 2.5 goals since three goals or more have been scored in 73 percent of Lazio home matches. They’re a well-oiled machine with the league’s leading goalscorer up-front. I expect 3-1 or 3-2 scoreline here.

Lazio vs Hellas Verona: Betting Tips
