Napoli are at risk of losing captain and all-time top scorer Marek Hamsik, after the midfielder admitted that he had received two approaches from clubs in China.
The Slovakia international has become an iconic figure at the Stadio San Paolo since joining from Brescia in 2007, and overtook Diego Maradona in the club’s scoring charts after netting his 116th goal against Sampdoria in December.
Hamsik has been linked with a move to the Chinese Super League, with Shandong Luneng and Tianjin Quanjian vying for his signature, but insisted that no decision had been made yet.
“In terms of my future, I’m still a Napoli player for now and nothing has changed,” the 30-year-old declared at a charity event in his homeland.
“It’s true that I have spoken to the president [Aurelio De Laurentiis] and told him that there are some opportunities, but at the moment I have no other news.”
The former Slovan Bratislava midfielder has made 501 appearances for Napoli, and lifted the Coppa Italia twice with the Partenopei.
