The Saints were stunned by Burnley in their last clash here after the latter came out on top with a narrow 2-1 scoreline. The hosts have not picked up a single point in their past two games in a row and have just one win from their previous four as well.

Nevertheless, with thirty-one points in the bag, the home team are currently sitting twelfth on the ladder.

Die Verantwortlichen beim FC Bayern wollen die sportliche Entwicklung abwarten. Aber wie lange genau? Sogar bis Mai, wie auch kolportiert wird? Intern wurde vereinbart, keine Daten zu nennen. Aber zwei prominente Ex-Trainer fordern eine schnelle Entscheidung. "Grundsätzlich ist bis Mitte März Klarheit wünschenswert, damit der Klub wie der Trainer disponieren können", hatte Jupp Heynckes, der 2013er-Tripletrainer des FC Bayern, zuletzt im kicker gesagt. Ottmar Hitzfeld, der den Rekordmeister 2001 zum Triumph in der Champions League coachte, sieht es ganz ähnlich: "Anfang März ist es ideal, damit beide Seiten planen und sich auf das Wesentliche konzentrieren können."

Flick selbst macht kein Geheimnis daraus, wie viel Spaß ihm sein Job macht, das unterstrich er auch am Donnerstag auf der Pressekonferenz vor dem Spiel gegen Paderborn (Freitag, 20.30 LIVE! bei kicker) erneut. Seine Zukunft sieht er so oder so gelassen. "Wenn es so sein sollte, dass sie einen anderen Trainer haben wollen, dann geht bei mir die Welt auch nicht unter und mein Leben weiter", sagte Flick.

Flick: "Ich hatte schon immer einige Anfragen"

Die Spieler haben sich indes schon mehrfach lobend geäußert und würden gerne mit ihm weiterarbeiten. Zudem wird das Wirken von Flick auch abseits des FC Bayern registriert. Muss sich der Rekordmeister also schon bald auf Abwerbeversuche gefasst machen? Auf die Frage, ob er denn schon Anfragen habe, wurde Flick nicht konkret. "Über solche Dinge habe ich mich noch nie geäußert", erklärte der 54-Jährige und ergänzte: "Ich hatte schon immer einige Anfragen und noch nie irgendwo etwas rausgelassen, was ich für Angebote habe. Es bringt ja auch nichts. Ich bin jetzt hier, und da ist 100 Prozent Aufmerksamkeit gefordert. Alles andere lenkt nur ab."

Torna sul pianeta terra chiamato Serie A l'Atalanta, che comunque non può permettersi passi falsi dopo la festa in Champions. Il 4-1 rifilato a San Siro al Valencia avvicina nettamente il traguardo storico dei quarti di finale, ma i nerazzurri in campionato devono difendere il quarto posto che permetterebbe loro una nuova qualificazione alla massima competizione europea. Tre vittorie nelle ultime quattro giornate il bottino della squadra di Gasperini, che dall'altra parte troverà un Sassuolo reduce dalla sconfitta casalinga subita per mano del Parma. Inoltre l'Atalanta ha vinto le ultime cinque gare contro i neroverdi in Serie A: il Sassuolo potrebbe diventare la prima squadra a perdere tutte le sei partite disputate nelle ultime tre stagioni contro una singola avversaria nella competizione. I neroverdi dovranno inoltre fare i conti con un attacco fortissimo, capace di segnare 63 reti in 24 giornate. in 58 precedenti partecipazioni alla Serie A, solo due volte i bergamaschi hanno segnato di più in un’intera stagione (66 gol nel 1949/50 e 77 lo scorso campionato).

Atalanta, Gasperini cambia dopo la Champions

Dopo la notte da sogno con il Valencia, l'Atalanta si presenterà alla sfida con il Sassuolo con qualche volto nuovo. Ancora da valutare Djimsiti, che si era infortunato nel riscaldamento di San Siro. Qualora non ce la dovesse fare, sarà De Roon ad arretrare la sua posizione per completare la difesa con Toloi e Palomino. Castagne può ritrovare una maglia da titolare così come Malinovskyi e Zapata.

Sassuolo, un paio di ballottaggi tra difesa e centrocampo

Idee decisamente più chiare per De Zerbi, chiamato a sciogliere solo due dubbi. Il primo riguarda la difesa con il ballottaggio fra Marlon e Romagna (quest'ultimo favorito). Il secondo invece è relativo al centrocampo, dove Obiang e Magnanelli si giocano una maglia da titolare. In attacco invece Defrel non è al meglio ed è monitorato in vista di domenica. Il francese si è allenato a parte al pari di Traoré, Chiriches e Tripaldelli.

"Klassentreffen" für Dabbur und Samassekou

Borussia Mönchengladbach gehört mit Blick auf die jüngste Bilanz nicht gerade zu den Lieblingsgegner der TSG Hoffenheim. Vor dem erneuten Duell am Samstag (15.30 Uhr, LIVE! bei kicker) ist Cheftrainer Alfred Schreuder trotzdem guter Dinge. Für zwei seiner Spieler kommt es am Niederrhein außerdem zum Wiedersehen mit alten Bekannten.




Mit zwiespältigen Gefühlen denkt Alfred Schreuder an das Hinspiel zurück. 0:3 stand es am Ende aus Hoffenheimer Sicht für Gladbach, dabei "war das fußballerisch eines unserer besten Heimspiele", erinnert sich Alfred Schreuder, " wir sind sehr oft in den Strafraum gekommen, aber die Qualität im letzten Drittel hat uns gefehlt. Das war der Unterschied, das hat Gladbach besser gemacht, deshalb haben sie gewonnen." Mit anderen Worten: Das hätte auch anders ausgehen können. Und so sieht der Niederländer seine TSG auch am Samstag bei der Borussia nicht chancenlos. Auch wenn die Vorzeichen klar für die Gladbacher sprechen. Achtmal in Folge haben sie zuletzt im Borussiapark gewonnen und auch die Bilanz gegen Hoffenheim ist stark: Nur eines von zwölf Duellen konnte die TSG gewinnen (sechs Remis/fünf Niederlagen), keines der letzten fünf Spiele, nur gegen Frankfurt (sechs Spiele) sind die Kraichgauer noch länger ohne Dreier.



Gladbach weiß auch, dass wir auswärts gegen große Gegner schon gut gespielt und unsere Qualität haben, wenn sie das zulassen.

"Sie haben eine super Entwicklung genommen", erkennt Schreuder in der Borussia die Spitzenmannschaft, die die Tabelle ausweist. Vom Druck der drohenden dritten Niederlage in Folge will sich Schreuder die Vorfreude nicht vermiesen lassen. "Man weiß nie, was in Zukunft passiert, wir könnten auch gewinnen. Ich kann nur meine Spieler beeinflussen, dass wir einen Plan entwickeln, an den wir alle glauben", so der 47-Jährige, "wir wissen auch, dass wir gegen solche Gegner oft sehr gut spielen. Wir freuen uns drauf. Gladbach weiß auch, dass wir auswärts gegen große Gegner schon gut gespielt und unsere Qualität haben, wenn sie das zulassen. Es geht immer darum, ob wir mutig und gut genug sind, uns von hinten herauszuspielen, länger den Ball zu haben. Dann werden diese Gegner auch unruhig."

Wiedersehen mit Lainer und Rose

Für zwei Hoffenheimer ist der Trip zur Borussia gewissermaßen ein Klassentreffen. Munas Dabbur und Diadie Samassekou, die bis Sommer noch gemeinsam in Salzburg spielten und die österreichische Meisterschaft und den Pokalsieg einfuhren, treffen auf ihren damaligen Trainer Marco Rose, der jetzt die Gladbacher zu einem Spitzenteam formt. Zudem wechselte auch Gladbachs Rechtsverteidiger Stefan Lainer im Sommer von RB zur Borussia. Im Hinspiel hatte Samassekou noch wegen eines Muskelfaserrisses im Oberschenkel gefehlt, und Dabbur spielte seinerzeit noch in Spanien beim FC Sevilla. Erst im Winter war der Stürmer wegen zu geringer Perspektiven für zwölf Millionen Euro nach Hoffenheim gewechselt. Nun könnte der Israeli ausgerechnet gegen seinen Ex-Coach seinen ersten Bundesligatreffer schießen.

Personell hat Schreuder wieder eine größere Auswahl, Dennis Geiger steht wieder zur Verfügung, auch die zuletzt angeschlagenen Ihlas Bebou (Knieprobleme) und Sargis Adamyan (Sprunggelenk) sind wieder belastbar und könnten zumindest im Aufgebot auftauchen. Allerdings wohl kaum von Beginn an auf dem Platz.

Löst Rudy Beck ab?

Läuft alles planmäßig, wird Sebastian Rudy am Samstag as neuer Hoffenheimer Rekordspieler in die Annalen eingehen, der Nationalspieler steht vor seinem 217. Einsatz für die TSG und würde an Andreas Beck vorbeiziehen.

Un niño del United le pide a Klopp que deje de ganar y el técnico le responde con una entrañable carta

"El Liverpool está ganando demasiados partidos. Si ganas nueve más, tendrás la mejor racha de imbatibilidad del fútbol inglés. Ahora ser un fanático del United es muy triste. Así que la próxima vez que juegue el Liverpool, por favor, haz que pierda. Deberías dejar que el otro equipo marque. Espero haberle convencido de no ganar la Liga o cualquier otro partido nunca más". En estos términos se expresaba Daragh Curley, un niño de 10 años aficionado del Manchester United en una carta que escribió como una tarea escolar. El destinatario, Jurgen Klopp.

El pequeño estaba cansado de tanto dominio de los 'reds' y decidió escribir a su técnico para tratar de frenar el avance imparable del Liverpool, un equipo que domina esta temporada con puño de hierro la Premier League: 25 victorias, un empate y ninguna derrota.

La sorpresa de Daragh Curley llegó cuando Klopp respondió a su misiva. La carta llegó certificada y decía lo siguiente.

"Querido Daragh,

En primer lugar, me gustaría agradecerle por escribirme. Sé que no me enviaste buena suerte ni nada de eso pero siempre es bueno saber de un joven aficionado al fútbol sin importar qué, así que aprecio que te pongas en contacto conmigo.

Desafortunadamente, en esta ocasión no puedo concederle su petición, no por elección de todas formas. Por mucho que quieras que el Liverpool pierda, es mi trabajo hacer todo lo que pueda para ayudar al Liverpool a ganar, ya que hay millones de personas en todo el mundo que quieren que eso suceda, así que realmente no quiero defraudarlas.

Afortunadamente para ti, hemos perdido partidos en el pasado y perderemos partidos en el futuro porque así es el fútbol. El problema es que cuando tienes diez años piensas que las cosas siempre serán como son ahora, pero si hay algo que puedo decirte a los 52 años es que definitivamente no es así.

Habiendo leído tu carta, creo que puedo decir con seguridad que una cosa que no cambiará es tu pasión por el fútbol y por tu club. El Manchester United tiene la suerte de tenerte a ti.

Espero que si tenemos la suerte de ganar más partidos y quizá incluso de levantar algunos trofeos más, no estés muy decepcionado, porque aunque nuestros clubes son grandes rivales, también compartimos un gran respeto mutuo. Esto, para mí, es de lo que se trata el fútbol.
