Bayern Munich hand Chelsea huge transfer boost with Kai Havertz confirmation

Kai Havertz is firmly established as Chelsea's next transfer priority ahead of the new Premier League season

Bayern Munich have handed Frank Lampard and Chelsea a huge boost in the hunt to sign Bayer Leverkusen ace Kai Havertz this summer.
The Germany international is firmly established as the next transfer priority for the Blues, following on from the captures of Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner.
Havertz is regarded as one of the finest young players in world football and has previously been linked with the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Bayern Munich have also been heavily attributed with an interest in Havertz' services but the economic effect of the coronavirus crisis has trimmed the number of clubs able to make a move this summer.

While a move to Madrid or Barcelona is off the cards, it has repeatedly been suggested that Bayern could enter the market to throw a spanner in the works of Chelsea's transfer plans.
However, having already splashed the cash to bring Leroy Sane to Bavaria from Manchester City, it has been made clear that they will not be making a move for Havertz' services.

"I am sure that after Leroy Sane there will be no major transfers this year," Bayern's honorary president Uli Hoeness told German newspaper FAZ
"This has nothing to do with the quality of Havertz. We all think he is a very, very good player.
"But in the corona period after a transfer of almost €50million, one of €70-80million or more, I can't imagine making unless we secure counter-financing through player sales.”
