Gravina: 'Fans by early July'

FIGC President Gabriele Gravina says he is ‘hopeful’ Italian stadia will be back to being as much as half-full by early July.
The Italian season resumed last night after three months of inactivity, when Juventus held Milan to a goalless draw to reach the Coppa Italia Final.
Now, Gravina believes the country is in a posiiton to start letting some fans through the turnstiles again.
“I was able to rejoice, while thinking of a strange coincidence: last night we should’ve got Italy-Turkey under way in Rome,” he told Radio Deejay, referring to the Azzurri’s proposed Euro 2020 opener.
“It’s a source of great pride for our movement and the fans. We were coherent, balanced and we spoke throughout: this mix led to an important objective being achieved.
“Yesterday’s step was the last to dispel any doubts about the prospects of our campaign being stopped.
“I’m happy, now the last piece is missing: the participation of the fans. I hope, half of them at the most, will return to the stadium by early July.
“That would mean Italy has moved away from the remaining restrictions and a dark moment.”
