Scottish football is in a right prickly jam as the Jags and Jambos join forces in court against the SPFL.
Partick Thistle released their new strip featuring broken stripes but the fracture threatens to stretch right across Scottish football as the Firhill club and Hearts look to reverse their relegation - or claw back £10m.
And they've not ruled out delaying the season start.
It’s a fight which has split Hotline callers right down the middle.
Frank McFerran, Carrickfergus, said: “Does the SFA just want Hearts and Partick Thistle to lie down and take an unfair relegation without fighting their corner? They have a right to try and rescind this decision through the courts.”
Brian Allan reckons clubs could be lost the Scottish league - and he doesn’t mean go out of business. He emailed: “If the Jambos and Jags stop the league from starting and a few teams in England fold could this open the door for Celtic and Rangers to move to England?”
But not everyone has sympathy for the duo.
Kevin Lord, Drylaw, said: “With Partick jumping on Hearts’ pathetic bandwagon, and Sheffield United now threatening to sue Hawkeye, football is no longer about good players, coaches or the fans...it's who can afford the best legal team that'll come out on top. Killing the game.”
Gordon Ashley, Ayr, said: “It’s time for clubs to stand up and take action against those who have disgraced our league. Hearts, Thistle and Rangers have all acted disgustingly by trying to cause trouble to cover their own failings and should be thrown out of our league setup.”
And Brian Connor emailed: “If Hearts and Partick Thistle stop the league going ahead could fans who have bought season tickets sue them?”
Rangers boss Steven Gerrard welcomed his players back to Auchenhowie this week and has told fans the club are working on more signings after the early captures of Ianis Hagi and Cavin Bassey.
But Lance LIttle, Erskine, said: “Another season and another Gerrard rallying call to the fans about exciting times. Where have we heard that before? Might it be season ticket time? It's the only time of the season that they are level with the nine in a row champions. Unfortunately even alphabetically Celtic are miles ahead.”
And Stefan Lomako, Whithorn, said: “There's a bit of a hue and cry at the moment over Celtic’s legal, moral and democratic title award from those who loathe it. It will still be going on in a few years’ time as fans debate whether it's 13 or 14 on the trot.”
However, Neil Lennon’s call for the first Old Firm game of the season - at Celtic Park - to be delayed until fans are allowed in has
John Bruce emailed: “Celtic are already setting the narrative for the first Old Firm game to be postponed and played later in the season - presumably because they feel it will benefit them in the latter stages of the league, in their quest for another title.
“Having already been awarded a title - unprecedented in Scottish football - and given that the SPFL fell over themselves in the scramble to accommodate Celtic, why not just award them the three points at the start of the season to save the charade of Celtic scoring the winning goal with six men offside?”
Finally, our latest On This Day feature on Scotland’s forgettable World Cup debut in 1954 - a 7-0 horsing from Uruguay - brought a wry smile to the face of Tommy Graham, Giffnock .
He said: “I had to laugh at the final line in your report of Scotland v Uruguay in 1954. "A least it forced Scottish football into a period of self analysis.
"So now 66 years later what's different. We just never seem to learn and any success seems to be by accident.”
