Torino vs Sampdoria: Match Preview
The Granata’s poor form continued as they suffered a humiliating 0-4 defeat to lowly Lecce at the Via Del Mare.
After three consecutive league losses with a combined goal difference of 1:13 and the Coppa Italia exit against AC Milan, Toro parted ways with Walter Mazzarri and appointed a local lad and former Frosinone boss, Moreno Longo.
He’s no stranger to Torino fans as he played for the club and won the Primavera Scudetto and Supercoppa when he was their academy coach.
Twelfth-placed Torino have registered four wins, two draws and five defeats at the Olimpico, netting 0.93 goals per match and conceding 1.73 in return. They have racked up six points from their last five fixtures at this venue (2W, 3L).
Sampdoria are now just four points above the relegation zone following a 2-4 home defeat to Napoli- their third in last six Serie A matches.
The Blucerchiati have been leaky at the back having conceded nine goals over the last three league outings. Claudio Ranieri must improve Samp’s defence if they are to avoid being sucked into the relegation battle.
The Saturday’s visitors have posted two wins, one draws and seven losses away from Luigi Ferraris this season, averaging 0.90 goals scored per match, whilst shipping 2.10. They have earned seven points from their last five road games (2W, 1D, 2L).

Torino vs Sampdoria: Prediction
Both sides are struggling at the moment, but I’m counting on Toro’s determination to make amends for an unforgettable 0-7 loss to Atalanta. The hosts will be hoping for a fresh start under new manager and I’m willing to back them, albeit in draw-no-bet market.
I’ll also pick Granata’s captain and ‘prima punta’ Andrea Belotti to end his four-game goal drought in the league and set the example for the rest of the team. The Azzurri’s no. 9 has bagged 9 league goals this season.
