Arsenal finally managed to end a horror in away games by beating Middlesbrough 2-1 last Monday. The previous three games on the road were defeats conceding 3 goals each. Also, they lost 5 of their last 6 away games prior to the win at the Riverside conceding a minimum of 3 goals in each of them.
At the Emirates, the performances were slightly better with 3 wins coming from the last 6. However, each of the wins came against extremely poor away sides like Hull City, West Ham and Lincoln City. They lost to Bayern and Watford, while settling for a draw against their Sunday’s opponent for a 2-2 score-line.
On the other hand, Manchester City are coming on the back of a comfortable 3-0 win away from home at Southampton. This make it 2 wins on the bounce for the Citizens, but they were on a four match win-less run prior to that. The barren run saw 2 draws and 2 losses. But three of those matches were against in-form teams like Monaco, Liverpool, Chelsea.
Arsenal vs Manchester City: Head-to-head
We saw a thrilling 2-2 draw, when the teams met at the Emirates earlier this month. The result extended City’s unbeaten run over Arsenal to three matches, but they have only 1 win to their name.
In the last 11 h2h matches in all competitions, Arsenal have a better record with 5 wins as against City’s 3 wins, while 3 matches finished in draws.
Arsenal vs Manchester City: Prediction
Arsenal’s recent form is hardly convincing while going against a side like Manchester City in a neutral venue like Wembley. Also, they struggled to get results while playing outside their home ground. The Citizens had their own troubles on the travels, but they are a free scoring team which could give plenty of problems to a depleted Arsenal defense. Therefore, the Sky Blues are expected to continue to their unbeaten run over the Gunners.
