VETERAN FORWARD JEMAL JOHNSON RETURNS TO JACKSONVILLE

Johnson scored the club's first NASL goal in record fashion

The Jacksonville Armada FC have renegotiated the contract of forward Jemal Johnson. The contract extension makes Johnson one of four players who have been with the club since the beginning of team’s 2015 inaugural season.
Johnson, 31, played 1,506 minutes in 2016 making 18 starts in 24 games. He scored two goals and led the team with four assists alongside Zach Steinberger last season. Johnson has remained a mainstay on the left side of the Armada frontline over two seasons in Jacksonville.
In his most recent contribution, Johnson scored a stunning goal to spring the Armada’s comeback overcoming a 2-goal deficit to defeat the Tampa Bay Rowdies, 3-2 on Oct. 30. He has also been voted Farah & Farah Man of the Match 10 times in two season with the club.
The Armada FC have also announced the release of midfielder Nicolas Perea.
