Ýmsir portúgalskir miðlar halda því fram að Manchester United og Sporting CP séu búin að komast að samkomulagi um kaupverð á portúgalska miðjumanninum Bruno Fernandes.
Fernandes er gríðarlega eftirsóttur leikmaður enda skoraði hann 32 mörk á síðustu leiktíð, sem er met fyrir miðjumann í Portúgal, og er kominn með 15 mörk og 13 stoðsendingar í fyrstu 25 leikjum á þessari leiktíð.
Sporting mun fá 70 milljónir evra, rétt tæplega 60 milljónir punda, fyrir Fernandes auk leikmanns að láni út tímabilið.
Man Utd bauð að lána portúgalska markvörðinn Joel Pereira til Sporting en hann þótti ekki nógu reyndur, rétt eins og samlandi hans Angel Gomes. Þá hefði Sporting verið til í að fá Marcos Rojo ef ekki fyrir himinháar launakröfur.
Nú virðist útlit fyrir að brasilíski miðjumaðurinn Andreas Pereira muni skipta yfir til Sporting. Hann væri fullkominn kostur þar sem hann getur leyst sömu stöðu og Fernandes á vellinum.

La Fiorentina raggiunge l'Inter: battuta l'Atalanta 2-1
Grande vittoria della Viola che batte l'Atalanta raggiungendo l'Inter ai quarti di finale.
Nel match valevole per gli ottavi di finale della Coppa Italia 2019/2020 la Fiorentina fa l'impresa battendo 2-1 l'Atalanta. Successo di prestigio per la squadra Viola che, in dieci uomini, passa il turno grazie ai gol di Cutrone e Lirola mentre alla Dea non basta il momentaneo pareggio di Ilicic. Con questa vittoria, dunque, la squadra di Iachini stacca il pass per i quarti di finale dove troverà l'Inter ma prima c'è la sfida col Napoli in campionato. La Dea, invece, tornerà in campo lunedì contro la SPAL.
IL RACCONTO DEL MATCH
Per quanto concerne il capitolo formazioni 3-5-2 per la Fiorentina con Cutrone e Vlahovic a comporre il tandem offensivo mentre l'Atalanta risponde col 3-4-2-1 con Malinovskyi e Pasalic alle spalle dell'unica punta Muriel.
Ottimo avvio della Fiorentina che dopo undici minuti passa subito in vantaggio proprio con Cutrone che, al termine di una splendida azione in velocità, insacca col piatto destro, 1-0. La Dea soffre nel primo quarto di match ma alla mezz'ora sfiora il pareggio con un colpo di testa di Pasalic che si stampa sulla traversa. Su capovolgimento di fronte padroni di casa ad un passo dal raddoppio con Vlahovic che, servito da Benassi, calcia a porta vuota ma Djimsiti salva in qualche modo.
Nella seconda frazione Gasperini rivoluziona la sua squadra mandando in campo Ilicic e Gomez per Freuler e Masiello e al 58' la Dea va ad un passo dal pareggio con Pasalic che, pescato in verticale da Muriel si presenta davanti a Terracciano calciandogli addosso. Poco più tardi altra chance clamorosa per l'Atalanta con Muriel che mette al centro per il mancino di Gonses ma la conclusione del tedesco si stampa sul palo. Al 67', però, arriva il meritato pareggio dei nerazzurri con Ilicic che, su cross dalla sinistra, fredda Terracciano con il piatto mancino, 1-1.
La Fiorentina resta in dieci uomini, per il doppio giallo rimediato da Pezzella, ma al minuto 84 torna avanti con Lirola che, servito meravigliosamente da Pulgar, entra in area e col destro a incrociare batte Gollini, 2-1. Nel finale assedio dell'Atalanta che al 93' va vicina al pari con una gran conclusione da fuori di Malinovskyi che termina fuori di nulla. E' l'ultima emozione del match: impresa della Fiorentina che batte l'Atalanta qualificandosi ai quarti di finale di Coppa Italia.
Coppa Italia - Il Milan va ai quarti con un tris: Piatek-Castillejo-Theo stendono la Spal
A San Siro i rossoneri vincono con merito per 3-0 e accedono ai quarti dove ad attenderli c'è il Torino.
Il Milan supera senza problemi la Spal per 3-0 e accede ai quarti di finale di Coppa Italia. A San Siro i rossoneri trovano il secondo successo consecutivo tra campionato e coppa superando con tre gol la squadra di Semplici, mai pericolosa nel corso dei 90’: ad aprire le marcature è Piatek, che torna al gol dopo più di un mese, poi Castillejo e nella ripresa ancora una volta Theo Hernandez, al quinto centro in stagione. Spal che fatica a rendersi pericolosa nonostante una discreta reazione sul piano del gioco dopo il gol del momentaneo 1-0: l’unica nota lieta è il buon debutto di Bryan Dabo, ex Fiorentina. Il Milan quindi sorride, porta avanti ciò che di buono si è visto nella trasferta vittoriosa di sabato contro il Cagliari e vola ai quarti dove incontrerà il Torino di Mazzarri.
Le formazioni
Pioli conferma il 4-4-2 visto contro il Cagliari: tra i pali ci va Antonio Donnarumma, c’è il debutto in difesa dal 1’ per Simon Kjaer mentre il tandem d’attacco è una novità, con Piatek e Rebic a guidare il reparto offensivo. Spal in campo sempre con il 3-5-2: c’è Dabo, alla prima in maglia ferrarese, in cabina di regia con Murgia e Tunjov, davanti la coppia Paloschi-Floccari.
La partita
In avvio è il Milan a fare la partita: i rossoneri cercano subito la profondità con palloni in verticale per mandare negli spazi Piatek e Rebic i quali però sono spesso lontani dalla porta e faticano a creare occasioni pericolose. A funzionare decisamente meglio è la catena di destra dove spesso Castillejo spinge e va a supporto delle due punte, diventando l’uomo più pericoloso del primo tempo rossonero: all’8’ dopo un suo spunto la palla arriva a Bennacer che ha un po’ di campo e con il sinistro da lontano non inquadra la porta di poco; al 17’ l’esterno spagnolo ha la prima occasione della sua partita ma a tu per tu con Berisha si fa chiudere dal portiere albanese, bravo ad aprire il compasso e a strappare con i piedi il pallone al 7 rossonero. Al 20’ però l’ex estremo difensore della Lazio non può nulla nell’uno contro uno con Piatek: verticalizzazione per il polacco che scatta sul filo del fuorigioco e che con il piattone supera il portiere facendo 1-0. Dopo il gol la SPAL comincia a macinare gioco: Jankovic gioca in realtà dietro le punte, Tunjov largo a sinistra e Dabo diventa la prima fonte di impostazione: le occasioni però scarseggiano e oltre a qualche tentativo terminato alto è solo Floccari ad impegnare Donnarumma con un sinistro a giro debole. Il Milan quindi tiene il risultato fino al 45’ quando sulla sirena Castillejo torna a farsi vedere e lo fa firmando il 2-0: ripartenza Rossonera con Piatek che allarga per lo spagnolo il quale si ferma e da dentro l’area fa partire un sinistro a giro precisissimo sul secondo palo dove Berisha non ci può mai arrivare.
La ripresa vede una Spal completamente diversa rispetto a quella della prima frazione dopo il gol del vantaggio rossonero: il Milan ha in mano il pallino del gioco e punta soprattutto a gestire risultato ed energie. Non mancano però le scorribande offensive: al 57’ l’accelerazione rossonera porta Rebic in area, sterzata sul destro e tiro potente ma centrale che Berisha respinge. Chi di accelerazioni se ne intende è sicuramente Theo Hernandez che 66’ pesca un altro jolly e fa 5 in stagione: il francese si prende tutto il campo e accentrandosi fa partire un sinistro a filo d’erba che si infila tra palo e mano di Berisha. 3-0 che chiude del tutto i conti ma la Spal nel finale ci prova comunque e all’85’ Donnarumma è chiamato al grande intervento per tenere la porta inviolata: Murgia si inserisce con i tempi giusti e di testa da due passi colpisce centrale dove c’è l’estremo difensore del Milan. A 3’ dalla fine Paqueta va in scivolata per murare il tentativo dal limite della Spal, colpisce il pallone con il braccio che è attaccato al corpo ma per Ghersini c’è il penalty: Abisso al VAR però richiama il direttore di gara che dopo l‘on-field review torna sui suoi passi e toglie il tiro dagli undici metri agli spallini. È l’ultimo highlight del match: vince il Milan che passa il turno di Coppa Italia.

How Bruno Fernandes could fit into Manchester United's midfield
Fernandes is one of the hottest properties in Europe, and he can play in several different positions.
Manchester United are reportedly close to the signing of Sporting Lisbon's Bruno Fernandes.
The Red Devils have been crying out for a creative spark and Fernandes could be the man to solve their midfield problems.
We've looked at three different ways that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could fit Fernandes into the team if he moves to Old Trafford.
4-2-3-1: Fernandes as a forward
Solskjaer has stuck with a 4-2-3-1 formation throughout most of this season and Fernandes would seamlessly fit into that system.
The 25-year-old has often been deployed as an attacking midfielder for Sporting Lisbon, and he thrives in that role behind the striker.
United have been lacking goals from midfield with Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata and Andreas Pereira scoring a combined goals total of 12 in 2018-19.
In comparison, Fernandes has delivered some outrageous numbers in Portugal on a consistent basis, scoring 32 goals in 53 appearances last season.
Solskjaer could use a midfield two of Scott McTominay and Paul Pogba to try and ensure that Fernandes is as close to the opposition's goal as possible.
4-3-3: Fernandes next to Pogba
While a 4-2-3-1 formation would suit Fernandes, it might not get the best out of Pogba.
The pair prefer to occupy the space between the opposition’s midfield and defence, where they can cause problems and create chances.
Therefore, United could play them both in a 4-3-3, just like Manchester City do with Kevin de Bruyne and David Silva.
This system would give Fernandes and Pogba more freedom to attack and it would make United a vastly improved side going forward.
McTominay would act as the anchor of the team in front of the back four, but Fernandes is also a willing defensive contributor.
4-3-1-2: Fernandes behind the striker
After a difficult first year in England, Fred has been one of United's most consistent performers this season.
It would be harsh to drop the Brazilian to the bench even though Fernandes would walk straight into their starting line-up.
Solskjaer has deployed a 4-3-1-2 formation in difficult away games and this option would give United a more balanced midfield.
McTominay and Fred would be responsible for breaking up play while Pogba would be in his favoured position on the left of the three.
This then allows Fernandes to sit behind the two centre forwards and find pockets of space in the box.
Overall, Fernandes would prove to be a smart signing for United as the versatile midfielder can fit into a few different systems.
Arsenal boss Arteta rubbishes John Stones link as Gunners gear up for Sheffield United
LONDON COLNEY: Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta has been speaking ahead of their Premier League match against Sheffield United at the Emirates on Saturday.
Mikel Arteta has insisted there is no truth in stories linking Manchester City defender John Stones with Arsenal.
The England centre-half has been rumoured to be joining the Gunners in the January transfer window as Arteta seeks to bolster his backline.
With Calum Chambers ruled out for the season after rupturing the anterior cruciate ligament of his left knee during the home match with Chelsea last month, as well as Kieran Tierney not expected to resume full training until the end of March, Arteta is short of defenders.
With Konstantinos Mavropanos joining German second division club FC Nurnberg on loan until the end of the season and Shkodran Mustafi also expected to depart the north Londoners this month, Arteta needs to add numbers to his depleted defence.
However, the 37-year-old head coach insisted there was simply 'no truth at all' in Stones heading to Arsenal, adding: "John is a player that I really like and I followed.
"We signed him when I was at Manchester City and I worked with him for many years and know him well.
"When I look at centre backs he has many attributes that I like from one, but we’re not interested."
Arteta also confirmed Sead Kolasinac and Lucas Torreira are being assessed ahead of the Premier League match against Sheffield United at the Emirates on Saturday.
"[Kolasinac] had a normal session yesterday. He has been in some discomfort, we know this season that he had some little niggles, so we have to assess him and see if we can get him fit for Saturday or he will be out," explained Arteta.
"Torreira is in a very similar situation. He trained yesterday as well, but still not 100 per cent confident so we will have to wait and see again," he said, describing the nature of the midfielder's injury, adding: "It is something related to his hip, producing some pain in the muscle.
"He is a tough boy, he wants to train, he wants to play and hopefully he will be available for the weekend."
Arteta also gave an update on Hector Bellerin saying he had been training with the first team for the past few days.
He said: "He is looking much sharper, much better. He needs a little chunk of training sessions before he is ready to compete but he is looking much better."
Arteta was coy about transfer targets denying there was any truth in links with AC Milan’s Franck Kessie saying to journalists, including VAVEL, at the club's training ground London Colney: "I have bad news for you guys, I have nothing to say yet [on transfers]."
The Gunners boss also confirmed club captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will miss three matches after the club's appeal to downgrade his red card failed.
Aubameyang was sent off after a rash challenge on Crystal Palace's Max Meyer at Selhurst Park on Saturday after VAR decided his late tackle should have been upgraded from a yellow card to a straight red.
The influential striker will miss the home match with the Blades on Saturday as well as the clash with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge next Tuesday and the FA Cup fourth-round tie at Bournemouth the following Monday.
Aubameyang suspension is a "big shame"
Arteta said: "It has been confirmed that he is going to be suspended for three games. So we're not going to have the player for the next three fixtures.
"It's a big shame and a big loss for us, because as well we know Auba's intention when he plays. But unfortunately, he mistimed the tackle, he made a decision and we have to accept it.
"He was very sad after the game. He was disappointed that he left the team with 10 men. It's an action that is completely accidental in my opinion. He's been superb under me, he's trained really well, he's working so hard. He's scoring goals and has probably been the most important player on the team. So to lose him, obviously, is really bad news for us.
"I hope we can play better and even win the games and he will be pushing for that as well. Players have to step up. You know, when one of your big players is not there, they have to take responsibility. I'm sure when they're not playing, they want a chance and they talk.
"It's time to talk on the pitch, not outside. You come on there, you make the impact that he made and you sure me that you are as good as him or even better. You have the chance."
Arteta also took time to praise Chris Wilder's side as the Gunners step up their focus on Saturday's match.
The Bramall Lane outfit have taken the top flight by storm with their organisation and solidity and sit in sixth place on 32 points.
The south Yorkshire side beat Unai Emery's Arsenal 1-0 back in October in a performance which was as impressive as Emery's side was awful, in a match which precipitated the beginning of the end for the former Gunners boss.
"I've been very impressed," said Arteta. "I've seen a lot of games and everything is prepared. Everything they do has a real sense, they are really difficult to break down.
"The solidarity in their team is incredible, how hard they work for each other and they have very clear principles - in attack and in defence, restarts of play, set-pieces - with what they want to do. So it will be a very difficult test. I already warned the players today.
Arteta warns Arsenal players about Sheffield United quality
"The work Chris Wilder has done is phenomenal and he’s done some special things as well with some movements and characteristics of how he moves his team around, and the demands that he puts on his players.
"What I like about a manager is when I see a team and they are a real team that fights for every single ball with their attitude and behaviour, as well as their intentions for what they want to do every time. It’s very clear what he’s trying to do, so I have big admiration for him."
Arteta also discussed the lack of form from former Lyon striker Alex Lacazette saying the 'best medicine' for him was to 'put the ball in the net'.
In response to a question from VAVEL on Real Madrid loanee Dani Ceballos, Arteta gave a mixed response.
Ceballos, who joined the Gunners on a season-long loan last summer from the Bernabeu, was left out of Arteta's squad which travelled to Selhurst despite being fit.

However, Arteta insisted the attacking midfielder was still very much in his plans for the rest of the season.
"Yes," he said. "Dani had an injury where he was out for almost two months and had to go to Madrid for his rehab.
"He came back and in the first few weeks, I didn’t think that he was physically at the level to compete for starting games.
"It’s true that I have players in that position who have been performing really well, and last week when I believed that he was ready to step in, I decided to pick another player.
"But he’s been training good, I’m happy with him and I know him really well, so there’s no issues there."

Ao longo da década, o Atlético-MG possui uma "fama" de recuperar certos jogadores que não estão tendo oportunidades, ou que o rendimento não vem sendo o esperado. Nesta quarta-feira, 15, foi apresentado oficialmente o meia Hyoran, de 26 anos.
Contratado por um ano de empréstimo junto ao Palmeiras, o atleta chegou à Cidade do Galo com o passe fixado. Em três temporadas em São Paulo, Hyoran atuou 61 vezes e marcou 11 gols. Apesar de poucas partidas disputadas, ele acredita que conseguiu fazer o melhor dentro de campo.
"Quando eu tive a oportunidade de jogar, eu acho que fui muito bem. Devido às escolhas (da comissão técnica) eu não tive muitas chances, mas acredito que esse novo ano aqui no Galo as coisas vão ser diferentes. Eu vim pronto para ajudar e mostrar meu potencial dentro e fora de campo".
Se existe um setor em que o Galo está bem servido, é pelos os lados do campo. É onde também que Hyoran gosta de atuar. Mas, se depender dele, está a disposição para ajudar onde for preciso.
"Onde o Dudamel me colocar, eu estou disposto a ajudar. Eu já tive uma conversa com ele, me perguntou onde eu me sentia bem eu jogar e que já havia visto alguns vídeos da minha carreira. Eu disse pro professor que gostava de jogar pelos lados, assim como por dentro. Porém, deixei a escolha com ele".
Sobre a briga pela posição, Hyoran declara que veio para jogar entre os 11, e que toda decisão do treinador do Galo será respeitada.
"Eu vim buscar a titularidade. Se eu não viesse com esse objetivo, não teria motivos para estar aqui (no Atlético-MG). Essa briga por posição tem que ser do grupo inteiro, e vai fazer bem pra todos nós do elenco. Todos já entenderam a metodologia do Dudamel e respeitamos cada escolha".
Com dois golaços de Luan, Corinthians bate New York City na estreia da Florida Cup

Corinthians e New York City se enfrentaram, nesta quarta-feira (15), no Exploria Stadium – em Orlando – pela primeira rodada da Florida Cup.
O Timão venceu a equipe norte-americana por 2 a 1, com dois gols do estreante Luan. Lansade ainda descontou para os americanos.
Show do Timão no primeiro tempo
A expectativa do novo Corinthians era de intensidade e futebol mais dinâmico. Todavia, fora a equipe norte-americana que criou a primeira chance de gol. Antes do primeiro minuto, Jasson tomou a bola de Pedro Henrique e partiu para cima. Na conclusão, o meia finalizou por cima da meta de Cássio.
A primeira chance do Timão veio no minuto seguinte. Luan recebeu na intermediária e chutou de fora da área. A bola desviou na defesa, mas quase cobriu o goleiro do New York City.
Aos 6, a primeira chance real de gol do Corinthians. Luan virou o jogo e encontrou Fagner, que bateu de primeira, obrigando Bazarra a fazer excelente defesa.
A equipe de Tiago Nunes precisou de apenas dez minutos para balançar as redes. Em cobrança de falta, Luan cobrou por cima da barreira e mandou no canto do gol. Golaço!
O segundo gol do Timão também saiu dos pés do Luan. Janderson rolou para o camisa 7 na entrada área, que, com tranquilidade, driblou o marcador e, colocado, mandou no cantinho de Bazarra. Mais um belo gol do estreante!
Perda de intensidade na segunda etapa
Para a segunda etapa, o Timão entrou com 11 novos jogadores. Vale destacar a reestreia do lateral-esquerdo Sidcley e a primeira partida de Danilo Avelar como zagueiro.
Ficou nítida a queda de intensidade da equipe no segundo tempo devido às mudanças. O Corinthians só criou uma oportunidade aos 26 minutos. Mateus Vital recebeu na entrada da área, ajeitou para a perna direita e concluiu, mas a bola saiu por cima do gol.
O New York City ainda descontou aos 29 minutos. Após vacilada de Marllon, Kapanadze cruzou pela linha de fundo e Lansade concluiu. A bola ainda desviou em Bruno Méndez antes de entrar para o gol.
Antes do apito final, o Timão ainda criou uma chance de gol do Madson, que fazia sua estreia na equipe principal. O garoto recebeu dentro da área e finalizou de primeira, mas Mizell fez uma defesaça. No rebote, Vital concluiu, mas, mais uma vez, o goleiro evitou o terceiro gol do Corinthians.
Como que fica?
Com a vitória, o Corinthians assume a liderança da tabela da Florida Cup com três pontos. O Timão entra em campo no sábado (18), às 19h30, contra o Atlético Nacional, da Colômbia, para decidir o título do torneio amistoso.
