"In general, the feedback from the global media has been positive. There have been a lot of positive stories by the English, they really liked it in Volgograd," Sorokin told journalists.
England defeated Tunisia 2-1 in their first Group G match at the Volgograd Arena on Monday.
Sorokin added that despite the general positive attitude of the media, there were many cases of publishing fake articles.
"Unfortunately, we have seen a number of fake photos and photo reports, which have nothing to do with reality. They show people being beaten up here. It is absolutely disgusting to watch. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do about this," he said.
Sorokin said that LOC were visiting the World Cup host cities on a daily basis.
"Now we are going to two cities every day. We are speaking with tourists and the participating countries. I don't want to tempt fate, but everything is more or less going according to plan. Of course, there have been some set-backs, but this is normal," he said.
