Ola Kamara scored in the 75th minute to lift the 10-man LA Galaxy to a 1-0 victory over the Montreal Impact after Zlatan Ibrahimovic was sent off late in the first half for his swipe at Impact defender Michael Petrasso.
Kamara's fifth goal of the season, off a feed from Emmanuel Boateng, snaps the Galaxy's four-match losing streak ahead of their California Clasico fixture next Friday at home.
Meanwhile, Montreal suffered the indignity of a third straight defeat -- the last two while playing up a man at home -- on the 25th anniversary of their first match in North American pro soccer.
The Impact were at least trailing when Philadelphia's Cory Burke was dismissed last weekend. This time, it was still 0-0 when Ibrahimovic struck the side of Petrasso's head and neck area after Petrasso perhaps stepped on Ibrahimovic's boot.
After a Video Review, referee Ismail Elfath had no choice but to dismiss the Swedish superstar. Montreal finished the game outshooting LA 23-7, only to again be undone by a second-half counterattack.

Three Things
- THE BIG PICTURE: It's hard to imagine things getting much worse for first-year coach Remi Garde and the Impact, who are 1-7-0 in their last eight matches and have gone three games without a goal. They continued their mind-boggling trend of conceding late, allowing their 20th second-half goal and 17th beyond the 60th minute.
- MOMENT OF THE MATCH: For a player of Ibrahimovic's experience, his blatant foul play in the 42nd minute was stunning, but perhaps not unexpected. After all, it was the 13th dismissal of his career in all club competitions, according to Transfermarkt.
- MAN OF THE MATCH: Montreal will regret not putting more pressure on Galaxy goalkeeper David Bingham. But he still made two divine stops in the space of a minute on Alejandro Silva and Raheem Edwards early in the second half, and in the first snuffed out an impressive run by Ignacio Piatti.
