According to Spanish news outlet, Dario Gol, Real Madrid are prepared to offer £43.65m (€50m) in addition to their own Isco for Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian is right up there with Neymar and Eden Hazard on Madrid’s summer shortlist and Liverpool are taking equal measures to bring in a playmaker.
The Reds have lost Philippe Coutinho in the January window and are currently a bit short staffed in the creative department. But all odds considered this is a laughable offer from the Galacticos, if true.
Salah has established himself as one of the best attackers in the Premier League this season by scoring 29 and assisting 10. He is on his way to win the Golden Boot until and unless Harry Kane somehow manages to overcome the winger within the next 6 games(won’t be much of a shock if he does).
Jurgen Klopp acquired Salah from AS Roma last summer and by the looks of it have received ten-fold return on his £37m investment. The former Chelsea player currently has a formidable partnership with Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino in the Liverpool final third and is tied to the club until the summer of 2022.
Coutinho’s departure has almost been overshadowed by the 25-year-old’s excellent run of form and Klopp will be highly reluctant to let go him in the near future. The Anfield head coach was hesitant to let go of Coutinho as well but later had to cave as complications arose. No way he is letting go of another one of his star players within a 6-month period.
Isco is highly favoured by his coach as well, even if he does not draw the same praise from the Los Blancos ownership. Zidane prefered to keep the Spaniard over the £71m James Rodriguezand has delegated major responsibilities onto his shoulders.
Isco might have started the season on a poor note but has found his feet in recent weeks. He was prolific for his country during the international break, scoring a hattrick in the 6-1 battering of Argentina.
He has managed 7 with the Galacticos and has furthered 8 assists in 41 appearances across all competitions. The former Malaga man packs quite a punch in the middle of the park. He drifts in out of tight spaces and plays a major part in formulating Madrid’s attacks.
He could be an ideal fit in the similar fast-paced system Klopp has in place at Anfield but Florentino Perez might have to make a significantly better offer. Salah can easily break the transfer record if he makes the switch this summer.
