Nuremberg maintained their flawless start to the season with a hard-earned 1-0 win at promoted Regensburg. Union Berlin and Arminia Bielefeld also made it two wins from two, but fellow promotion candidates Darmstadt were held to a draw at Kaiserslautern. There was no separating St. Pauli and Dynamo Dresden on Monday, with both maintaining their unbeaten starts thanks to a 2-2 draw.

Ingolstadt's struggles since dropping down to the second tier continued, meanwhile, with a second successive defeat - this time at the hands of Sandhausen. Die Schanzer are one of five teams down at the bottom still searching for their first points of 2017/18.
