Celtic v Kilmarnock: Hoops captain Scott Brown suspended for Betfred Cup second round tie

Celtic skipper Scott Brown is suspended for the Betfred Cup game with Kilmarnock

Celtic captain Scott Brown will miss Tuesday’s Betfred Cup second round tie against Kilmarnock through suspension.
The midfielder misses the Parkhead clash as he must serve a ban carried over from last season's competition.

Defensive duo Erik Sviatchenko and Dedryck Boyata are out until September as they both battle knee injuries, with Nir Bitton set to continue at centre-back.

The Israel international has impressed Hoops manager Brendan Rodgerswith competent performances in the 1-0 win over Rosenborg in Champions League qualifying and the 4-1 thrashing of Hearts on Saturday.
Striker Moussa Dembele remains out of contention with a hamstring problem.
Kilmarnock will be looking to bounce back from defeat on the opening weekend of the Scottish Premiership season, where they went down 2-1 at home to St Johnstone.
Kilmarnock and Celtic meet again - this time in the Scottish Premiership - on August 19. Coverage from Rugby Park begins on Sky Sports Football at midday.
