Edinson Cavani, Olivier Giroud , Marco Verratti (OG) and Alex Iwobi (OG) were all on the scoresheet as Arsenal and PSG shared the points in north London

Arsenal are set to finish runners-up in their Champions League group again this season after Paris-Saint-Germain battled back to force a draw at the Emirates.
The French champions dominated the first half and took the 18th-minute lead when Edinson Cavani converted Blaise Matuidi's cross.
But this clash of the top two sparked into action after 45 minutes when Alexis Sanchez went down controversially under challenge form Grzegorz Krychowiak – and German referee Felix Brych pointed to the spot.
Olivier Giroud stepped up to score his fifth goal in five games for the Gunners.
Arsenal took the lead when Marquinhos' clearance cannoned in off off the unfortunate Marco Verratti. But PSG equalised after 77 minutes from sub Hatem Ben Arfa's corner when Lucas' header flicked off the head of Alex Iwobi and past David Ospina. The Arsenal goalkeeper then denied Cavani when the Uruguayan was clean through.
Here are five things we learned:

1. Arsenal will face another top team in the last 16

Unless PSG fail to beat Ludogorets in the final game, they will top Group A because of scoring more goals away in their two drawn games.
The Gunners have still not won a group since 2012 – and have gone out in the first knockout game in the last six seasons.

2. Edinson Cavani doesn't miss Zlatan Ibrahimovic

El Matador was confined to the flanks when the big Swede was the main man. This season he has now scored 16 goals in all competitions – the most in Europe's top five leagues. But he should still have won the game with two late chances.

3. Arsenal look better with Giroud up front

A post Euro 2016 holiday then injury saw Arsene Wenger try Alexis Sanches up front – and stick with the Chilean when the France striker returned. But Giroud adds physical presence to a lightweight Arsenal forward line – and keeps on scoring

4. Unai Emery still can't win a big game for Paris Saint-Germain

The Basque won his last game against English opposition in last season's Europa League final against Liverpool but his transition at PSG is taking longer than planned. The French champions lost at Monaco, drew at home to Arsenal and also failed to beat Marseille.

5. Granit Xhaka is an expensive £34m sub

The Swiss midfielder finally came on after 77 minutes straight after the equaliser. But he was surely bought for big games like this.

PLAYER RATINGS

By John Cross
Arsenal
Ospina - 7
You could not fault him even though PSG piled on pressure.
Jenkinson - 7
Worked hard, got forward and played his heart out. Very committed.
Koscielny - 7
Booked. Solid. Survived big shout for a penalty against Cavani.
Mustafi - 6
Looked a bit shaky, Koscielny definitely the more senior partner.
Gibbs - 7
Has bided his time and deserved a chance in the battle with Monreal.
Coquelin - 6
Booked. His yellow card means he’s banned for Basel. Had a poor night.

Arsenal's Aaron Ramsey in action with Paris Saint-Germain's Alphonse Areola

Ramsey - 6
Kept bombing forward all night. Had a running war with Cavani.
Sanchez - 7
Back on the wing and a frustrating night, plenty of sulks and histrionics.
Ozil - 7
Some clever moments but only fleetingly. Needs to dominate.
Iwobi - 6
Got the nod over Oxlade-Chamberlain and struggled at times.
Giroud - 7
Kept his nerve to score a penalty. Did well with little service.
SUBS: Cech, Monreal, Gabriel, Xhaka, Elneny, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Walcott.

Thiago Silva and Aaron Ramsey after a collision

Paris Saint-Germain
Areola - 6
Could not have done much to stop his defence self destructing at times.
Meunier - 6
Filled in for Aurier after his passport row, not half as good.
Marquinhos - 6
Booked. Difficult night. Largely good but undone in key moments.
Thiago Silva - 7
Had early effort cleared off the line. Some shaky moments at the back.
Maxwell - 7
Got forward well and patrolled his flank with real authority.
Verratti - 7
Booked. Classy player but bad luck struck and he scored an own goal.

PSG's Blaise Matuidi in action at the Emirates

Krychowiak - 7
Conceded a penalty and conceded possession badly. Spoiled his night.
Thiago Motta - 6
Strong in midfield, dictated the play for PSG. Effective performance.
Lucas - 8
MotM. Looked a real handful, caused all sorts of problems with magical moments.
Matuidi - 7
His driving runs from midfield were superb and assist for Cavani’s opener.
Cavani - 7
Not even he can miss from a couple of yards. Busy all night and scored.
