it- L'Atalanta schianta il Sassuolo: 4-1 al Gewiss Stadium

Nel match valevole per il recupero della venticinquesima giornata del campionato di Serie A 2019/2020 l'Atalanta demolisce il Sassuolo battendolo 4-1. La squadra nerazzurra chiude i conti nella prima frazione grazie ai gol di Zapata, Djimsiti e l'autorete di Bourabia mentre nella ripresa arriva la seconda rete dell'attaccante colombiano e il gol dello stesso Bourabia. Ripartenza col botto per la Dea che consolida la quarta posizione con 51 punti mentre gli emiliani restano in dodicesima posizione, insieme al Cagliari, con 32 punti.

IL RACCONTO DEL MATCH

Per quanto concerne il capitolo formazioni 3-4-2-1 per l'Atalanta con Gomez e Pasalic alle spalle di Zapata mentre il Sassuolo risponde col 4-2-3-1 con Berardi, Defrel e Boga a supporto dell'unica punta Caputo.

Ottima partenza dell'Atalanta che dopo un quarto d'ora passa in vantaggio con Djimsiti che, sugli sviluppi di un calcio d'angolo, sfrutta la torre di un compagno e da pochi passi insacca, 1-0. Passano pochi minuti e la Dea trova anche la rete del raddoppio ma il direttore di gara, aiutato dal VAR, annulla per un fallo di mano di Gosens. Al 29' Atalanta nuovamente ad un passo dal secondo gol con un mancino dal limite di Gomez che si perde a lato di pochissimo.

Passano 120'' e la Dea trova lo strameritato raddoppio con Zapata che sfrutta l'assist di Gosens e a porta vuota insacca di testa, 2-0. La squadra di Gasperini non si ferma e al 37' va ad un passo dalla terza rete con Zapata che, sugli sviluppi di un cross da sinistra, stacca di testa centrando la traversa. Sul prosieguo dell'azione arriva il tris con Bourabia che corregge sfortunatamente nella propria porta un cross di Gosens, 3-0. Nel finale di tempo si fa vedere anche il Sassuolo con Berardi e Caputo ma Gollini si oppone in grande stile in entrambe le occasioni. 

La ripresa si apre col Sassuolo ad un passo dal 3-1 con Defrel che mette al centro per la deviazione di Caputo ma quest'ultimo non inquadra la porta. Al 56' altra chance per gli emiliani con Defrel che si invola verso la porta e calcia col mancino ma Gollini salva i suoi con un grande intervento. Dopo un'ora De Zerbi manda in campo Djuricic e Haraslin per Berardi e Boga ma al 66' l'Atalanta cala il poker con Zapata che, sugli sviluppi di un calcio di punizione, anticipa tutti insaccando di testa. La Dea non si ferma e al 79' va vicina al quinto gol con Muriel che rientra sul destro e calcia ma Consigli respinge in qualche modo.

Nel finale arriva il gol della bandiera del Sassuolo grazie ad una splendida punizione di Bourabia che non lascia scampo a Gollini, 4-1. E' l'ultima emozione del match: l'Atalanta ricomincia col botto insidiando la terza posizione dell'Inter, brusco risveglio per il Sassuolo di De Zerbi. 

it- La Lazio batte il Torino ed attende la Juventus

La Lazio gioca d'anticipo provando a cancellare le polemiche post Fiorentina. Il tuffo di Caicedo e il rigore seguente trasformato da Immobile hanno fatto da eco in giornate dove si è detto di tutto. Ora il Torino per ripartire e mettere pressione alla Juventus, magari aspettando un passo falso dei bianconeri a Marassi. In casa Toro, si rivede Lyanco con Meitè esterno d'attacco con Belotti e Verdi. Laziocon Immobile e Caicedo in attacco, Parolo in regia e Lazzari e Milinkovic a cercare la giocata.

CRONACA DELLA PARTITA

Primo tempo che parte con il Torino che si porta subito in vantaggio con un rigore per un fallo di mano di Immobile e Belotti lo trasforma in modo puntuale e preciso. Al 10' ancora pericolo con Verdi che serve Belotti e il Gallo trova la deviazione di Parolo sulla sua conclusione. Al 15' prima occasione Lazio: Luis Alberto trova Immobile che calcia di destro, Sirigu para di piede ma era fuorigioco. Al 23' Caicedo e Luis Alberto duettano, servito Immobile in profondità, ma palla alle stelle a Sirigu battuto. Al 37' ancora l'attaccante ex Torino che calcia alle stelle un'altra occasione ghiotta. Al 43' Parolo pericoloso di testa dal dischetto del rigore, ma para Sirigu in due tempi e Torino che chiude prima frazione in vantaggio.

Nella ripresa, la Lazio trova subito il gol del pareggio: al 48' Immobile viene servito da Luis Alberto con una grande palla, controllo del capocannoniere della Serie A e tiro che finisce in rete e partita che torna in equilibrio. Il Torino subisce il colpo e la Lazio si dimostra pericolosa al 63': Radu mette in mezzo per Milinkovic che arriva in tuffo, ma non trova la porta. Raddoppio Lazio che arriva al 72', dopo la palla alta di Immobile. Gol che parte da Lukaku che trova con il cross Milinkovic e il serbo trova la respinta di Sirigu, ma la palla finisce a Parolo che trova il jolly da fuori area e l'aiuto di Bremer. La Lazio spinge e Correa si mette in proprio e tenta il sinistro di precisione e bravissimo Sirigu a deviare con una mano la conclusione. 

La Lazio porta a casa una vittoria davvero importante che certifica una squadra che soffre, ma capace di vincere comunque e mette pressione alla Juventus. Il Torino rimane in acque per nulla belle: la squadra di Longo non riesce a giocare e becca la seconda sconfitat consecutiva dopo quella contro il Cagliari.

Quique Setién: "No quiero especular con el futuro de Messi"

Esa es la verdad, por muy dolorosa que sea para los aficionados azulgranas, que no terminan de ser testigos de un juego resolutivo y, por lo tanto, de unos buenos resultados que permitan que su equipo pueda revalidar el título que actualmente ostenta y que tan de cerca acaricia el Real Madrid Club de Fútbol de Zinedine Zidane.

Tras la pérdida de puntos tan vitales como los perdidos ante rivales como el Real Club Celta de Vigo o el Club Atlético de Madrid, la de este domingo se postula como la oportunidad del todo o nada y esto pasa justo en el momento en el que el Villarreal Club de Fútbol de Javi Calleja atraviesa su mejor momento: va con todo a por la UEFA Champions League. "El Villarreal es de los mejores equipos que han vuelto del confinamiento y la realidad es que hace muy bien las cosas. Tiene talento y jugadores que están en un gran momento. Mucho no ha querido comentar el técnico santanderino al ser preguntado por cuáles serían las consecuencias más directas que le afectarían a nivel personal si, este sábado, en Villarreal, el equipo cosechara otro empate o, directamente, perdiera el partido. Menos lo ha querido hacer sobre su posible salida del equipo y sobre la reunión que, hace apenas unos días, mantuvo con el presidente y su cúpula en su domicilio para tratar aspectos deportivos y valorar la situación del equipo. Sí lo ha hecho al ser preguntado por si cambiaría algo de lo que ha hecho hasta ahora. "Claro que cambiaría algunas cosas. Y, a veces, no nos hemos merecido perder esos puntos. Cuando el resultado no llega, hay que buscar cosas para reforzarte. Hay cosas que hicimos que están bien. En Vigo, un acierto de Aspas nos quitó dos puntos. Hay circunstancias que no puedes controlar. Estamos en desventaja, pero tenemos vida y seguiremos peleando".

Por último, y entre muchos otros temas, habló sobre la situación anímica que atraviesa Antoine Griezmann, que lleva sin ser titular tres partidos. "El futbolista está bien. Yo he intercambiado algunas palabras con él. Es un grandísimo profesional. Es un jugador que puede entender esta situación en el fondo, como le ha pasado en otras etapas de su vida futbolística. Es un chaval extraordinario, tremendamente profesional y sé que no le afectará cuando vuelva a jugar. Es muy positivo. La realidad es que todos no pueden jugar y yo decido en función de mi criterio, en función de lo que aportan. No soy caprichoso. Tengo en cuenta la jerarquía, pero, en un club como el Barcelona, con tantos grandes jugadores, no todos van a poder jugar. Sé que algunos se enfadarán, pero todos no pueden estar. Es una decisión mía y me tengo que responsabilizar", zanjaba.

Después de dirigir la última sesión preparatoria sobre el césped del Tito Vilanova de la Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, previa a afrontar el viaje hasta Villarreal, el técnico del Fútbol Club Barcelona, Quique Setién, ha dado a conocer la convocatoria para hacer frente al conjunto liderado por Javi Calleja. El santanderino ha convocado a veinticuatro jugadores.

a it-Serie A - Tris di perle a Marassi: la Juve batte il Genoa e torna a +4 sulla Lazio

La Juve risponde colpo su colpo alla Lazio e nella partita più convincente dopo il lockdown porta a casa altri tre punti chiave nella corsa allo Scudetto. I ragazzi di Sarri azzannano la preda Genoa e la strapazzano nella ripresa con tre gioielli che portano la firma di Dybala, Ronaldo e Douglas Costa: al Ferraris finisce 1-3, per il Genoa il gol di Pinamonti arriva troppo tardi, a partita ormai chiusa. Per la prima volta dopo lo sto forzato i bianconeri giocano ad un buon ritmo per quasi tutti i 90', portando tanta pressione, creando parecchie occasioni e concedendo poco o nulla (solo nel finale ma a causa anche della stanchezza). Con questo successo la Juve torna quindi a +4 sulla Lazio e a +11 sull'Inter, in attesa della sfida di domani al Brescia. Il Genoa invece resta a 26 e guarda attentamente la sfida di domani tra il Lecce terzultimo e la Samp quintultima. 

Le formazioni

Nel 3-5-2 scelto da Nicola sono tanti gli ex bianconeri in campo: davanti a Perin la linea a tre è composta da Romero, Soumaro e Masiello, sugli esterni di centrocampo la coppia Ghiglione e Sturaro mentre il tandem offensivo vede Pinamonti e Favilli, con Pandev e Destro in panchina. Sarri ritrova Danilo a sinistra e conferma la formazione vista contro il Lecce: c’è Pjanic in cabina di regia nonostante la settimana piuttosto travagliata dal punto di vista del mercato, mentre in attacco viene riproposto il tridente Bernardeschi, Dybala e Ronaldo.

La partita

Il primo tempo della Juve a Marassi è molto simile a quello di venerdì contro il Lecce per come si sviluppa ma in questo caso il gol del vantaggio sarebbe stato più che meritato: i bianconere accelerano fin da subito e portano una pressione quasi asfissiante nei confronti di un Genoa che si rintana, con ordine, nei propri sedici metri per poi cercare subito la giocata lunga alla caccia della testa di Favilli, chiamato a tener su la squadra. Quello che è mancato però alla Vecchia Signora nei primi 45’ è stata l’incisività: i ragazzi di Sarri hanno optato diverse volte per la conclusione dalla distanza ma Perin si è sempre fatto trovare pronto sui tentativi di Bernardeschi e di Ronaldo. Proprio CR7, che svaria molto sul fronte d’attacco, passando da destra dove Ghiglione lo teme e gioca una prima frazione quasi da incubo, fino ad arrivare a destra da dove nasce il suo tiro più pericoloso: al 43’ entra in area di rigore e calcia potentissimo ma Perin resta su fino all’ultimo e con una mano nega il vantaggio bianconero. Dall’altra parte Szczesny praticamente inoperoso se non per qualche tocco in fase di impostazione: Genoa particolarmente passivo in zona gol.

Tra primo e secondo tempo Nicola decide di inserire forze fresche: escono Schone e Favilli ed entrano Lerager e Toni Sanabria che si rivelerà il migliore dei suoi in una ripresa che anch’essa segue quanto successo qualche giorno fa contro il Lecce. Contro i salentini la partita era stata sbloccata e chiusa da Dybala e Ronaldo, contro il Genoa l’epilogo è lo stesso. Al 50’ Dybala decide di sbloccarla e lo fa con una gran giocata in mezzo a quattro, sposta palla per calciare a giro e la infila sul palo lontano nonostante il tocco di Perin. La Joya fa naufragare il Grifone che si disunisce, si allunga e al 56’ viene giustiziato da una perla di Ronaldo: riceve a centrocampo, accelera puntando la porta e dai 20 metri fa partire un bolide col destro che è imprendibile per Perin. Uno-due che mette in ginocchio i ragazzi di Nicola i quali non superano più la metà campo per parecchi minuti, restano nella loro metà campo e al 73’ arriva il colpo finale firmato Douglas Costa: il brasiliano con la sua velocità brucia il suo marcatore con un doppio passo e dal limite pennella un sinistro a giro spettacolare che si infila sotto l’incrocio dei pali e vale lo 0-3. Con il tris i bianconeri ovviamente si lasciano un po’ andare, il Genoa sfrutta l’occasione per prendere metri e dal nulla al 76’ Pinamonti trova il gol dell’1-3 che dà una minima speranza di rimonta ai suoi. E per poco la partita non si riapre del tutto quando all’86’ la difesa di Sarri rischia un pasticcio clamoroso risolto da Szczesny il quale anticipa lo stesso Pinamonti pronto ad accorciare ulteriormente le distanze. Ed è anche l'ultima azione degna di nota della partita: finisce 1-3 per la Juve.

While many remember Vardy’s indispensable role in the title win, his England caps and his reputation of provoking opposition fans, the story for a lad born in South Yorkshire never looked as though it would turn out this way.  Rejection from his boyhood club at 16 made a career in professional football look inconceivable and it took almost a decade for that dream to become reality.

A £1 million bid was received by Fleetwood Town for their star striker whose non-league career had been eventful one; from balancing his job working in a factory to playing with a tag following an assault charge on a night out. At the time, it was a record fee for a player outside of England’s top four divisions and eyebrows were raised towards Leicester’s scouting team who would go onto make a pretty good name for themselves.

Vardy admitted that at the end of his first campaign with the Foxes he had no intention of playing football after falling out of love with the sport but the words of encouragement from Nigel Pearson and Craig Shakespeare saw David Nugent’s understudy change his mind. Quoting that pre-season as the hardest he has worked in his career, it was soon clear to see why as he played a pivotal part in firing the Foxes back into the Premier League with 16 goals and 10 assists.

Slow start in the Premier League

His first top-flight start saw him burst onto the Premier League scene as he put in one of the greatest individual performances in memory, scoring one and assisting four as Leicester staged a remarkable comeback in a famous 5-3 victory against Manchester United. The rest of the season was a quiet one for Vardy whose brilliance was limited to a handful of stand-out moments as his side spent most of the campaign in the bottom three.

However, one of those moments played a vital role in maintaining the club’s Premier League status as his breakaway goal at the Hawthorns in April secured a huge three points during Leicester’s great escape.

His form at the end of that season warranted his maiden England call-up and his debut soon followed as he came off the bench in a goalless draw against the Republic of Ireland. He would have to wait until March of the following year for his first international goal but it was certainly worth the wait as his intricate flick snuck inside Manuel Neuer’s near post to set the Three Lions on their way to a famous away victory against Germany.

That was one of many brilliant memories during the 2015/16 season for Vardy whose 24 league goals played a starring role in the 5000/1 fairytale. One of his personal disappointments of that campaign would have been missing out on the Golden Boot by just a single goal, leaving him to rue a missed penalty in the final home game against Everton. But the highs definitely outweighed the lows in that season as a Premier League winners’ medal, the Football Writers’ Player of the Year award and a Guinness World Record were more than he could have dreamed of at the beginning of the campaign.

Goals continue to flow for Vardy

Whilst it was a frustrating season that followed for Vardy and his team-mates, they got a taste of life in the Champions League and their run to the quarter-final gripped the continent. A far from embarrassing exit at the hands of Atletico Madrid in the last eight was a phenomenal achievement but the form in the league brought cause for concern leading to Claudio Ranieri losing his job in February.

With the Foxes’ star striker on just five goals for the season at that stage, a reputation as a ‘One Season Wonder’ started to gather momentum but he soon put the name to bed, netting eight times in the league in 13 matches under Craig Shakespeare.

Another season brought yet another manager for Leicester as Claude Puel took over in October 2017 and while Vardy may not have necessarily seen eye-to-eye with the Frenchman, his return was once again impressive; finishing the season with 20 Premier League goals. It was another visit to the Hawthorns that provided arguably his best goal for the Foxes, a sensational left-footed volley that went on to win the league’s Goal of the Month award for March.

With unrest amongst the squad really starting to take have an effect during the 2018/19 campaign, it became another season where Leicester underachieved in the league, leading to another February sacking. As Brendan Rodgers took the hotseat, it gave him three months to get the measure of his players following an admission of his admiration for Vardy who had scored nine goals for the season before his arrival. A strong relationship between the pair was soon established as the Foxes’ striker scored nine goals in the ten remaining league games to inspire a strong finish to the season for the club.

With optimism levels amongst the supporters at an all-time high heading into the current campaign, it quickly transferred onto the pitch with Vardy and Leicester making a fantastic start to the season. By mid-December the Foxes were flying buoyed by the blistering form of Vardy who was out on his own in the race for the Golden Boot following a run of eleven goals in eight consecutive matches.

Records continue to tumble

Encompassed in that run was just his second professional hat-trick in the division’s biggest ever away win: the 9-0 thrashing of Southampton at St Mary’s. However, losses against title rivals Liverpool and Manchester City around Christmas all-but dashed any hopes of another league triumph as the goals dried up for the Premier League’s leading scorer.

A run of ten matches followed where Vardy’s name was not on the scoresheet which paralleled with a dip in form for Rodgers’ side. With a secure place in the Champions League positions slowly slipping away, the 33-year-old finally broke his mini goal drought with a quickfire brace off the bench against struggling Aston Villa to take his top-flight tally to 99.

It would be another three and a half months before he could make it 100 due to a league suspension in response to the coronavirus pandemic. But even after the return of the Premier League, it was not until his fourth game back where Vardy would reach a magnificent century with possibly his easiest goal of the lot.

Nothing but pure relief was clear for all to see in his celebration as he became the 29^th player to reach 100 Premier League goals. When asked if he had ever believed he would reach such an impressive tally when joining the Foxes in 2012, the cheeky smile on Vardy’s face held the answer. Of course, he had never imagined it and neither had the thousands of Leicester fans who questioned his signing eight years ago.

But if there is one thing that they have learned in that time, it is that you should never write off Jamie Vardy.
