Medien: Doch nicht England? BVB-Star Pulisic will zu Real Madrid

Christian Pulisic sorgt weiter für Hochbetrieb in der BVB-Gerüchteküche. Nachdem das Offensiv-Juwel zuletzt mit englischen Schwergewichten liebäugelte, ist nun Real Madrid der Favorit.

Hat sich Pulisic für Real Madrid entschieden?

Nachdem Christian Pulisic gemeinsam mit seinem Beraterstamm die Gespräche über eine vorzeitige Verlängerung seines noch bis 2020 befristeten Vertrag mit Borussia Dortmund abgebrochen hat, mehren sich die Anzeichen eines vorzeitigen Wechsels. Deutete jüngst noch alles darauf hin, dass der 19-Jährige seine Zukunft in der Premier League sieht, tendiert der Flügelstürmer nun zu einem Wechsel nach Spanien. Zumindest berichtet „OK Diario“, dass Real Madrid im Rennen um den US-Amerikaner in der Pole Posistion liegt. So soll Pulisic den Königlichen zu verstehen gegeben haben, dass er sehr gerne im Santiago Bernabeu anheuern würde.

Wird Pulisic der Ronaldo-Nachfolger

Zwar hat man beim Champions-League-Sieger noch keine konkreten Schritte hinsichtlich einer Pulisic-Verpflichtung unternommen, aber die Blancos verfolgen die Entwicklung des Ausnahmetalents seit einem Jahr mit Argusaugen und erwägen einen Transfer. Zudem haben die Königlichen durch den Abschied von Superstar Cristiano Ronaldo durchaus Handlungsbedarf in der Offensivabteilung. Bislang wurde in der spanischen Hauptstadt noch kein potenzieller Nachfolger für Ronaldo verpflichtet, dafür machten aber zahlreiche Namen die Runde. Das könnte sich mit Pulsisic ändern, wenngleich der technisch versierte Rechtsfuß sicher nicht auf Anhieb und schon gar nicht allein die gewaltige CR7-Lücke bei Real schließen könnte.

FC Chelsea soll 73 Mio. für Pulisic bieten

Es ist durchaus vorstellbar, dass Real Madrid im Transferpoker um Christian Pulisic ein gewaltiges Wörtchen mitreden will und wird. Bislang war der FC Chelsea der vermeintliche Favorit, wobei die Blues laut dem „Mirror“ dem BVB 73 Millionen Euro für den Außenstürmer bieten sollen. Die Verhandlungen zwischen den Klubs sollen demnach auch schon laufen. Zudem sind wohl auch der FC Liverpool und Bayern München interessiert.

Für Borussia Dortmund wäre ein Transfer des variabel einsetzbaren Pulisic, der bereits 97 Pflichtspiele für die Schwarz-Gelben bestritten hat und dabei 32 Scorerpunkte sammelte (12 Tore, 20 Vorlagen), ein großer Qualitätsverlust. Doch mit Transfereinnahmen hätten die Westfalen zugleich mehr Möglichkeiten, noch einen namhaften Stürmer an Land zu ziehen.

Vancouver Whitecaps 4, Minnesota United 2 | 2018 MLS Match Recap

Alphonso Davies set an MLS transfer record with the completion of his move to Bayern Munichon Wednesday, and on Saturday he reminded everyone of exactly why he's the most exciting young player in Major League Soccer.

The 17-year-old scored two goals, both of them worldies, and assisted on two more as the Vancouver Whitecaps outgunned Minnesota United 4-2 in a wild, defense-optional affair in front of an appreciative crowd eager to hail their team's teenage wunderkind. 

Yordy Reyna opened the scoring with a twinkle-toed solo dribble and finish before Davies humbled the Loons defense with a slaloming run of his own, then set up Kei Kamara to cap a lightning-quick counterattack that had the 'Caps up 3-0 and cruising. 

Minnesota made things interesting with a late rally as Ibson flicked home a corner-kick delivery at the near post and substitute Abu Danladi buried a lovely delivery from Darwin Quintero. But this was Fonzie's day, and Davies proved it by destroying the visitors' rearguard one more time to kill off the Loons' hopes of a shock equalizer.

Montreal Impact 1, Atlanta United FC 2 | 2018 MLS Match Recap

Atlanta United FC extended their Supporters’ Shield lead and Josef Martinez inched closer to an MLS record.

On Saturday night at Stade Saputo, Martinez scored his 23rd and 24th goals of the season to lead first-place Atlanta to a 2-1 win over the Montreal Impact in a game that featured an hour-plus weather delay.

Martinez’s first goal of the night came in the 31st minute and the MLS Golden Beat leadermissed a big chance at another just before halftime, when the game was delayed due to a lightning streak in the area.

The Atlanta striker stayed just as hot after the long break, banging in a rebound after Jukka Raitala saved a Franco Escobar shot off the line.

Ignacio Piatti's 87th-minute strike was not enough for the Impact, who saw a five-game home winning streak snapped.

Atlanta, unbeaten in their last four, moved four points clear of New York City FC, who play in Seattle on Sunday, in the Shield race.

• THE BIG PICTURE: Atlanta continued to show what they’re made of by improving their road record to a blistering 7-2-2. No other team in the league has more than five wins away from home this year. The Impact, meanwhile, will need to regroup after a tough few days that included a Canadian Championship ouster and now a rare home loss in league play.
• MOMENT OF THE MATCH: Martinez’s movement and poise on his first goal showed why he’s such a dominant scorer. Knowing he was offside, he didn’t chase after a Miguel Almiron through ball, instead making a run into the box and expertly following the flight of a Hector Villalba cross, even after it grazed the head of Impact defender Rudy Camacho.
• MAN OF THE MATCH: It’s Martinez, obviously. After Saturday’s brace and a hat trick last week, the bigger question might be when he passes Roy Lassiter, Bradley Wright-Phillipsand Chris Wondolowski, all of whom currently share the MLS single-season record of 27 goals.
