Could Heung-min Son prove key in this potential Tottenham transfer deal?

Tottenham Hotspur will be hoping to break back into the top four come the end of the 2020/21 season.
2019/20 was a topsy-turvy affair for the north London giants, with Jose Mourinho replacing Mauricio Pochettino in December after a rough start.
The Portuguese eventually led the club to Europa League football but ultimately, the goal is to get back into the competition they reached the final of in 2018/19.
Defensively, Tottenham have been questionable in recent times and that has led to speculation about the potential arrival of a new defender – especially with Jan Vertonghen having left.
One name linked with the club is the highly rated Chinese Super League centre-back Kim-min Jae, with The Telegraph reporting on the interest in June.

The 6ft 3in Beijing Guoan star has been making a name for himself recently for the way he is able to dominate at the back.

A plethora of clubs are said to be interested in the 23-year-old, including Lazio and PSV Eindhoven (Gazzetta dello Sport), but perhaps Tottenham have something of a trump card.

TBR’s View – Son a key factor?

Son knows Kim very well having played with him for the South Korea national team, and can surely sell the Spurs experience to his international teammate.
Perhaps seeing how much of a hit Son is with the Spurs fans will encourage Kim to push for a move to the Premier League.
Son – who earns around £140,000-a-week at the club (Spotrac) – has been a major success story for Tottenham and Kim may feel particularly encouraged by that.
