Bayern Munich have won the 2020 Champions League after beating Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 in Lisbon on Sunday night.
The German giants have won the European Cup for the sixth time in their history, equalling Liverpool’s tally. Only Real Madrid (13) and AC Milan (seven) have won Europe’s premier club cup competition more times.
Hans-Dieter Flick’s side, who reached the final after hammering Barcelona 8-2 in the semi-finals, defeated PSG at the Estadio da Luz thanks to Kingsley Coman’s header on the hour-mark.
PSG were arguably the better team in the first half but Neymar and Kylian Mbappe both spurned excellent opportunities to put the French outfit ahead.
Robert Lewandowski also hit the post midway through the opening 45 minutes which were cagier than most football fans expected prior to kick-off.
The breakthrough came in the 59th minute when Joshua Kimmich’s cross picked out Coman, who made no mistake with his close-range header.
No further goals were scored and there were many tears from PSG’s players at the full-time whistle as Bayern’s euphoric celebrations began.
Rather than celebrating with his teammates, David Alaba immediately went to Neymar and commiserated the Brazilian, who was visibly distraught following PSG’s defeat.

Journalist Matt Critchley, who was at the game, tweeted: “Big credit to David Alaba who ignored the Bayern celebrations to commiserate Neymar, stayed with him for a good couple of minutes. Neymar clearly distraught.”
Neymar unfortunately failed to produce his best form in one of the biggest matches of his career to date.
Aside from that early chance which drew a top save from the excellent Manuel Neuer, Neymar rarely threatened.
He was signed by PSG for a world-record £198 million fee in the summer of 2017 to help turn them into European champions for the first time.
But three years on, the Parisians wait for their maiden Champions League title continues.
