Wolfsburg resume training

Wolfsburg have become the first club from Europe’s top five Leagues to resume first-team training.
All sporting events in Germany have been put on hold until at least April 3 due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Despite that, Wolfsburg announced on Monday their players had recommenced training, “albeit under special conditions and adhering to strict hygiene measures”, working “in small groups at staggered intervals at the Volkswagen Arena, exclusively using the gym until further notice.”
The club’s decision comes as a surprise, given the general need for social distancing to help reduce the spread of COVID-19.
The Bundesliga is also expected to extend postponement measures beyond April 3 in the next 48 hours.
Serie A high-fliers Lazio had initially hoped to resume training today but, after a significant backlash, withdrew that mandate
