Sporting CP vs PSV Eindhoven: Prediction

The Lisbon Lions will be looking to secure their progress to the knockout phase when they take on Dutch runner-ups on Thursday. Sporting are topping the Group D with two points ahead of LASK and PSV. After losing Matchday 1 clash in Eindhoven, the Portuguese side went on to record three wins on the trot.
Leonel Pontes’ men are sitting at 4th position on the Primeira ladder with the W-D-L record of 6-2-3 and they’ve won six of their last eight games.
PSV snapped their six-game winless streak across competitions with a 2-1 victory over Heerenveen on Sunday. The Rood-witten failed to impress against their Austrian counterparts as they were held to a goalless draw at Philips Stadium and lost convincingly in Linz (1-4).
If Mark van Bommel’s team lose this one and LASK defeats last-placed Rosenborg at home, they will be eliminated.
Sporting Lisbon have won 14 of their 20 home games in the EL group stage. They have 3-0-2 record at Jose Alvalade stadium in Primeira with an average of 2 goals scored per bout, whilst allowing 1.40.
Out-of-form PSV have won just one of the last five away fixtures in all competitions. They have 3-2-2 record on their travels in Eredivisie, scoring 1.86 goals per game and conceding 1.29.
The Thursday’s hosts have solid all-time record at this venue in the Europa League and are clearly in better shape than PSV at the moment.
The Rood-witten’s defence is all over the place – they’ve conceded 13 goals in their last five games, picking Sporting to net two or more makes sense here – and odds are great.
I’ll also back Bruno Fernandes to score anytime for the hosts. He has netted three goals in last six games for Sporting and Portuguese national team.

Sporting CP vs PSV Eindhoven: Betting Tips
