Sampdoria vs Torino
2016/17 Italian Serie A.
Date: Sunday, 4 December 2016
Kick-Off: 14:00 UK,
Venue: Stadio Comunale Luigi Ferraris (Genoa).
Sampdoria have been in decent form, but the Blucerchiati will have to be very wary as they welcome a Torino side in pretty good form themselves.
The Granata have won three matches on the trot to put themselves in contention for a European football berth. Sampdoria, meanwhile, have won three in a row at home to
find themselves just outside the top ten.
find themselves just outside the top ten.
Arguably one of the standout stars for the hosts has been Luis Muriel. The Colombian attacker has been linked to several bigger clubs across the continent and has struck six times for his side thus far. Three of those have been in his past three games. He surely will be hoping add more to his tally – especially as new Torino ‘keeper Joe Hart has struggled to keep clean sheets since his arrival from Manchester City.
Still, Torino are by no means the weakest defense in the league. They have conceded 17, which is still less than AC Milan (18), Inter (21) and much less than Cagliari’s whopping total of 31. Their attack, however, has been quite impressive. With 31 goals so far, only Roma have done better so far after 15 rounds.
Both teams come into this game having won or drawn their past four matches and will be eager to make it a fifth sans defeat as they aim to slowly keep working their way up the table. Things are pretty congested in the middle area, meaning that three points here and there could see a team jump up several places – and alternatively, slip right back down if things don’t go their way.

Sampdoria vs Torino: Prediction
Sampdoria are unbeaten in their past four games. Considering that they had lost five out of their prior eight, it’s a notable turnaround for the hosts. Moreover, they have scored in each and every one of their past ten league matches. Meanwhile, Torino are really making a push for a European spot. The Granata have appeared totally revitalized under Sinisa Mihajlovic, and as noted before, they’ve scored at least two goals in all but one of their past nine matches.
Expect goals from both sides in this one, and a draw is certainly not out of the realm of possibility.
