Hellas Verona vs Genoa: Match Preview
After high-scoring matches against Roma (1-3), Atalanta (2-3) and Torino (3-3), Hellas Verona went back to old ways and recorded a clean sheet and, more importantly, three points in Ferrara vs last-placed SPAL.
As a result, Ivan Juric’s side climbed up to 11th place on the ladder, well above the danger zone. The Scaligers have earned seven points from last five league outings.
At home, Verona have logged three wins, three draws and three defeats to date, scoring and conceding goals at the same rate – 1.11 per match. They’ve won two of their last four home games.
Alan Empereur (3 games, 0 goals) and Salcedo (9/1) are out with injuries.
Reinforced Grifone ended their winless run of eight league games with a late 2-1 victory over Sassuolo on Davide Nicola’s debut.
Former Udinese boss got them to play in 3-5-2 formation that was used under Aurelio Andreazzoli and handed Mattia Perin, an excellent, but injury-prone goalkeeper his second Genoa debut, while Valon Behrami came off the bench.
With a W-D-L record of 3-5-10, Rossoblu’s are 19th in the standings.
Genoa have the worst away record in the competition with four draws and five defeats, averaging a goal scored per game and conceding 2.67 in return. Inter smashed them 4-0 in their latest away fixture.
Kouame (11/5) is out for the season with torn ACL; Lerager (11/0) will be evaluated before the game.

Hellas Verona vs Genoa: Prediction
Hellas Verona are having an excellent campaign and are tough to beat, especially at home. With Genoa’s dreadful road record, I am giving Scaligers an edge in this one and back them in draw-no-bet market.
Lastly, I’ll take a late goal here. More than 30 percent of Grifone’s conceded goals occured after the 75th minute, whilst Verona have scored four of their ten home goals in the last fifteen minutes. Let’s hope for a dramatic 1-0 or 2-1 home win here. Good luck!
