Roma vs Juventus: Match Preview

The Giallorossi’s impressive stretch of four wins and one draw came to an end as they fell to a surprising 0-2 home defeat at the hands of Torino. Paulo Fonseca’s men have recorded 25 shots and produced 15 goal-scoring opportunities, but Salvatore Sirigu was unbeatable with 9 saves.
Roma remained 4th in the standings, but now they’re just one point clear of Atalanta and four points behind Lazio, who also have a game in hand.
Roma have registered five wins, two draws and two losses at the Stadio Olimpico, bagging two goals per game and shipping 1.44 in return. They’ve enjoyed a four-game winning streak at home prior to Granata defeat.
Kluivert (12 games, 3 goals), Mkhitaryan (9/3), Pastore (8/0), Santon (9/0) and Zappacosta (1/0) are on the sidelines for the hosts.
Juventus bounced back from a Supercoppa loss with a stunning performance against out-of-form Cagliari (4-0). After a goalless first half, red-hot Cristiano Ronaldo ran riot after the break and scored his first-ever Serie A hat-trick.
Juve are still second in the standings, behind Inter on goal difference and six points clear of third-placed Biancocelesti. The Binaconeri will be looking to get their revenge for last season’s defeat at Olimpico.
Maurizio Sarri’s side have recorded six wins, two draws and one defeat away from home, averaging 1.44 goals per bout, whilst allowing 0.89. They have won three of their last five away matches.
Chiellini (1/1) and Khedira (12/0) are long-term absentees for the visitors; while Bentancur (13/0) is banned.

Roma vs Juventus: Predicted Starting Lineups

Roma (4-2-3-1): Pau Lopez – Florenzi, Mancini, Smalling, Kolarov – Veretout, Diawara, Zaniolo, Pellegrini, Perotti – Dzeko.
Juventus (4-3-1-2): Sczcesny – Cuadrado, De Ligt, Bonucci, Alex Sandro – Rabiot, Pjanic, Matuidi, Ramsey – Higuain, Ronaldo.

Roma vs Juventus: Prediction

Despite the setback against Toro, Roma are having a stellar campaign and Paulo Fonseca is doing a fantastic job. He’s getting the best out of Pellegrini, Zaniolo, Dzeko and others and I’m confident they will score on Sunday, while I have no doubt Juve will find the back of the net here. Therefore, BTTS – Yes looks like a solid bet.
With a 1-2, 2-2 hunch, I will take over 2.5 goals as my second bet. At least three goals have been scored in six of the nine Roma’s home games this season and Bianconeri’s matches against top sides are usually action-packed (double 1-3 loss vs Lazio, 3-1 road win vs Atalanta, 4-3 home vicory vs Napoli, 2-1 away vs Inter).
