A few notes:

Highest paid. Naturally the number that sticks out the most is Mauro Diaz at just a shade under $1 million. Next up from that is Reto Ziegler’s $800k in total compensation. Big TAM signing there for sure by the club this offseason. Two of the Designated Players are making north of $500k (more on that in a second) and Maxi Urruti got his pay bump that he was looking for here. Roland Lamah and Cristian Colman both got second year bumps in pay as well.
DP spending. I know FCD gets a lot of flack for how they spend on Designated Players but when you look and see what they are doing with the three they have, it is still smart money. All are Young DPs for one, so they cost less against the salary cap. That part is big. I would imagine they’ll pay down Carlos Gruezo at some point if they aren’t able to get a transfer for him down the road. The big transfer to get Santiago Mosquera turns out to be a pretty solid price tag against the salary cap as well.
TAM spending. You can clearly see how FCD is using all mechanisms to their advantage here but most of all, they’re using a lot of TAM to help pay down some salaries against the cap. Ziegler is certainly a TAM player. Diaz is getting his high salary paid down as well.
Homegrown deals. Dallas once again dipped more into their Academy sides this offseason to get a couple more players, each making that league minimum except for Brandon Servania, who is getting that higher HGP deal that had been discussed in the past thanks to the new TAM (I would suspect Chris Richards is getting some of that TAM love as well).
GA steals. MLS teams still love Generation adidas deals and FCD has two of them in Francis Atuahene and Emi Twumasi. Both brining in solid money that doesn’t affect the salary cap at all. Now if only we could get some open international roster slots to use them.
