.NORWICH CITY CLOSING IN ON DEAL FOR MIDFIELDER

Alexander Tettey is due to sign a new two-year deal with Norwich City.
The Norwegian midfielder’s current contract runs out in the summer, and talks had come to a standstill.
However, it appears that there has been a positive development for Norwich fans with Tettey set to stay for another two years.
According to the Daily Mirror, Tettey’s new contract will be announced by the club this week. The 32-year-old has been at the club for nearly six years which has included multiple spells in the Championship as well as the Premier League.
His reliability can be seen in the fact that he has made over 20 league appearances every season he has been at the club with the 2013/14 season being his lowest when he played in just 21 Premier League games for a total of 1488 minutes.
The Verdict
Tettey usually plays as a defensive midfielder which is one of the roles in a team which can be severely underappreciated. However, his experience and imposing presence in midfield have been important over the years for the Canaries.
He has been a consistent performer for the club ever since he joined, so tying him down to a new deal is a good move for the club because he could always be an experienced option to bring off the bench to see out games if he isn’t given a first-team role.
