Bologna vs Torino Prediction & Match Preview

Bologna vs Torino
Italy – Serie A
Date: Sunday, 2 August 2020
Kick-off at 19:45 UK/ 20:45 CET
Venue: Stadio Renato Dall’Ara.
The Bull made themselves safe from relegation two match-days before, and since then, their intensity has definitely dropped. They now could not wait for this tiring season to come to an end, and prepare better for the subsequent campaign.

Their record on the road is certainly something to work upon during the break, as it has simply abysmal. Specially with Serie A showing more signs of tight competition, no team could now hope for an easy ride, and will have to work hard for their points.
The Greyhounds too have been struggling to cope up with the challenges of the league, and especially so since the restart after the pandemic.
However, they have managed a mid-table finish – which was notably due to their form in the early phase of the season.
Considering the long and dismal run of Moreno Longo’s men on the road, and due to the comparatively better track record of their counterparts, expect Bologna to be the better team this Sunday.

Bologna vs Torino: Head-to-head (h2h)

  • The Bull had won the reverse fixture, with a 1-0 scoreline at home.
  • Seven of the former twelve encounters had three or more goals.
  • Four of the preceding five overall wins went to the teams that were at home.
  • The hosts are unbeaten at this stadium since 2016.
  • In the last 30 years, only twice have the guests won at this stadium.

Bologna vs Torino: Prediction

Sinisa Mihajlovic’s men lost 4-0 on the road the last match-day, against Fiorentina. In the meanwhile, Longo’s men lost 2-3 at home against Roma.
As things stand, the Greyhounds have the better chances to deliver the better performance. The prime reason being the struggles of their opposite number.
The Bull are on a four-game winless run, and they were winless in 16 of their former 19 overall fixtures. On the road, they are on a ten-match winless run, of which nine were losses (in a row). In the process, they had also conceded 27 goals in total.
Going on, they have won just twice in total against this opponent since 1990. And it also needs to be mentioned that the Greyhounds have lost just six times this season at home – and four of those had come against Juventus, Roma, AC Milan, and Inter Milan.
Taking into account these observations, expect Bologna to come out on top this Sunday.
