Manchester City have no option but to go full throttle here, considering the EPL title is almost out of their hands.
Pep Guardiola needs something to save face from fans at the end of the season, and the Carabao Cup seems a respectable alternative. However, arch-rivals Manchester United just might have something to say about it.

- Four of the last five games also had goals from both teams.

Manchester United vs Manchester City Match Preview
Sadly for City fans, Pep Guardiola’s days under the sun seems to be over. The arrival of Jurgen Klopp and his boys have stolen the limelight, and the Spaniard’s dream of delivering his third hattrick league crowns, seem almost over.
Right now, it’s time to salvage as much as they could for the Manchester Blues. Their Champions League run have looked shaky so far, and coupled with the Round of 16 encounter against the in-form Real Madrid, two major titles seem to be out of grasp.
As such, the team which created history by delivering the first domestic treble in English history, needs to at least defend the Carabao Cup.
Manchester United vs Manchester City Prediction
United were at home in the Quarters, and then they defeated Colchester with a 3-0 scoreline. All three goals had come in the second half, in the span of just nine minutes.
Meanwhile, City were on the road against Oxford. Powered by a Raheem-Sterling-brace, the Citizens cruised to a 1-3 victory on the road, to take the spot in the semis.
This Tuesday, City seems to have the upper hand. Disregard their problems with Liverpool for one moment, and they still are one of the best teams in England and in the world. If not for Jurgen Klopp overshadowing them, the team still have shown incredible form, and dominance over other squads.
In fact, they have won eight of their last ten overall matches, and four of their former five on the road.
Moreover, since the Reds have started to show their true colors, the City boys have been trying extra hard on the pitch, and they will be adamant about progressing to the final, eliminating Manchester United.
Going on, United were winless in four of their last seven overall match-ups, and they also failed to score in their last two games.
On top of that, four of the last five h2h clashes had ended with the teams on the road winning, and at Old Trafford, United have just two wins to show for since 2011.
Importantly, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer have not still found a rhythm with his boys, and are still severely inconsistent. On the other hand, Pep have been at the top of his game for the past few years running, and despite some minor stumbles this season, they are still a squad to be feared.
Taking into account these observations, Manchester City seems the practical choice to give our backing for the win.
However, consider that this is a clash between arch-rivals. United will desperately wishing to pile on City’s problems, and they will consider this match-up as if a final for a major trophy.
On top of that, if Solskjaer’s men are able to eliminate the Citizens, only Leicester or Aston Villa remain in the path for EFL Cup glory. The desperate United players need some silverware at the end of the season, and surely, they will make the Carabao their top-priority now.
Moreover, the Red Devils have the home advantage, and they will want to make the most of it, before taking the trip to Etihad for the reverse fixture.
Going on, City have shown undeniable problems with their defending ever since the loss of Aymeric Laporte, and the unavailability of a quality backup has hurt them severely.
Additionally, at home, United have been on a roll for quite some time. In fact, this whole season, the Devils have lost just once in front of the home crowd, and combining all these above-mentioned factors together, it’s estimated that, at least once will Manchester United find the back of the net this Tuesday.
Thus, the BTTS bet looks very attractive.
