Paris Saint-German cruised past second division side Le Mans with a 4-1 scorecard, in the previous round, thereby extending their stellar winning streak to seven matches across all competitions. The hosts, as always, have been too hot to humble this season, and are currently leading the Ligue One standings with a whopping seven-point advantage.

On the other hand, Saint-Etienne are yet to ensure a similar consistency in their respective campaign. The guests have been alternating between wins and defeat in their past four games, the most recent of which was a 3-0 victory over Bastia-Borgo in the Coupe de France.

To make matters worse, the dearth of home advantage has been causing all sorts of problems for the visitors this term. Miserably, they have just two wins from their past six outings.

It is also worth mentioning that traveling to Parc des Princes has been nothing short of a nightmare for Saint-Etienne. The visiting contingent have been at the losing end in seven of their past eight meetings here, five of which have been by a three-goal margin or more.
