Bishkek: Kyrgyz Republic have announced their 23-man squad for the forthcoming international window, with FC Dordoi pair Azamat Baimatov and Alex Mischenko returning to Alexander Krestinin’s squad.
The two rejoin the national team set up ahead of a blockbuster two-week period, which will include a friendly match against Uzbekistan and key home FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and AFC Asian Cup China 2023 Asian Qualifiers' ties against Japan and Tajikistan.
Baimatov’s inclusion is particularly significant given the 29-year-old defender hasn’t appeared for the Akshumkar in over a year after he suffered an injury in the weeks before AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019.
Okteev Avazbek and Tursunali Rustamov are the two players to depart from last month’s squad, but the major players in Kyrgyz Republic's back-to-back wins over Myanmar and Mongolia remain at Krestinin’s disposal.
Edgar Bernhardt, a hat-trick hero in the 7-0 triumph over Myanmar, will appear after playing for Kedah in front of 85,000 fans in Saturday’s Malaysia Cup Final, while in-form youngsters Alimardon Shukuorv and Gulzhigit Alykulov also return after playing starring roles in October.

Last month’s successes took Kyrgyz Republic to six points from three Asian Qualifiers matches, level with Tajikistan and three points behind Group F leaders Japan, making both matches at Dolen Omurzakov Stadium crucial if the Akshumkar are to stay in with a chance of advancing to the next stage.
Kyrgyz Republic will meet Uzbekistan in Tashkent on Saturday, before facing Japan in Bishkek on November 14, with Tajikistan to visit the same venue five days later.
