A Spanish Segunda Division match which was set to have an impact on promotion to La Liga and relegation was postponed just before kick-off on Monday after cases of coronavirus were found at club Fuenlabrada.
In the final round of the normal season Fuenlabrada were aiming to clinch a play-off spot to reach the top flight, while Deportiva La Coruna needed a win to guarantee their second-tier status in a match originally set to start at 1900 GMT.
"After applying La Liga's COVID-19 health protocols and controls and detecting positive cases at CF Fuenlabrada, the Spanish football federation (RFEF) and La Liga ... have mutually agreed to postpone the RC Deportivo - CF Fuenlabrada match for reasons of force majeure," the league said in a statement published at 1838 GMT.
According to Spanish media reports six players and a two members of Fuenlabrada's coaching staff have caught the virus.
All other fixtures in the division have gone ahead as scheduled with Cadiz and Huesca eyeing the title and 20th-placed Numancia needing a win to have a chance of avoiding the drop.
The statement added that the decision to play the other matches was "the solution that best protects the health of the players and the overall integrity of the competition".
