Pioli: ‘Ancelotti is the best’

Fiorentina Coach Stefano Pioli calls Carlo Ancelotti “the best Italian Coach”, along with Max Allegri, and “one of the best in the world”.
The Viola face Carletto’s Napoli tomorrow night, having beaten them at the Franchi back in April to effectively hand Juventus the Scudetto.
“Both we and they are different teams from last year,” Pioli cautioned in his pre-match Press conference.
“They have the best Italian Coach along with Allegri, and Napoli are always one of the best teams in the league. We need to be good at exploiting the gaps.
“There’s no player who has worked under him [Ancelotti] that has anything negative to say, he’s won everywhere he’s been, in whichever country, and he knows how to get a team playing.
“I’m certain he could be included as one of the best in the world. I first met him when I was a ball boy and I even wore the boots he gave me. He was a great player too.
“We need to limit their attacking game tomorrow and look to take advantage on the break, we’re facing a team with great quality.
“We need to calmly analyse the situations that arise, I want a lucid Fiorentina, one that is able to manage the game. My players and I know what kind of Napoli to expect.”
Federico Chiesa was one of the few Italy players to emerge with any credit from the Nations League matches, and Pioli was asked about his young star.
“The expectations on him after the Poland game were too high. You can be built up too high and fall heavily.
“He has everything to be a top player, but we need to give him time. He’s calm and motivated, like all the players who came back from their national teams.”
