Alexandrian Smouha SC was stunned by a fifth ACL injury this season as the club confirmed Ahmed Temsah’s injury after his last match in the Egyptian Premier League.
Temsah is the fifth player to suffer from ananterior cruciate ligament injury after Mahmoud Sayed, Omar Saad, Mahmoud Ezzat and Mansou Kouakou also tore their ACL during this season.
“The injury didn’t happen because of a collision, I was just trying to take the ball from Ibrahim Abdel-Khalek then I got injured,” he told Nagham FM. “Training sessions are not the problem, no problems occur when we are training and players get enough rest. Envy is the reason behind these injuries.”
Defender Yasser Ibrahim was also suspected to have the same injury, but this diagnosis was later denied as the club assured that Ibrahim suffers from a knee ligament tear.
Hossam El-Badry denies Ali Maaloul departure rumors
Al Ahly coach Hossam El Badry rejected all rumors and reports saying that Tunisian player Ali Maaloul will be returning to Tunisia next summer.
This is the second time the head coach speaks about such issue after reports claimed that Al Ahly offered Maaloul for sale for 5 million dollars, a rumor that El Badry previously denied.
“Maaloul is staying with Al Ahly,” El Badry told DMC TV channel. “The current phase is crucial for the team and Maaloul is evolving every day. I would like to thank him for his commitment in training.”
The 57-year-old assured that the player’s expertise in African championships and with the Tunisian national team is important to him and to the club. “He will surely stay with us,” he concluded.
The Red Devils are getting ready for their upcoming league clash against Tanta in the 25th fixture. The club is on top of the table with 64 points after 24 matches.
