Zamalek manager Patrice Carteron talked about his side’s preparations for the CAF Super Cup clash agains Tunisia’s Esperance Sportive de Tunis.
Confederation Cup champions Zamalek will face Champions League winners Esperance Sportive de Tunis in the CAF Super Cup on Friday, February 14th at the Thani Bin Jassim Stadium in Al Rayyan, Qatar.
Ahead of the game Carteron revealed how the Whites prepared for the game and wether or not Shikabala will make an appearance.
“We respect Esperance and know they’re one of the best teams in the continent. I also have a lot of respect for their coach Moine Chaabani,” Carteron said during the pre-match press conference.
“It’s going to be a strong game and despite the fact that Esperance lost many influential players, their coach is still doing a great job in all competitions.
“The answer regarding Shikabala’s availability for the game will be given tomorrow and I have no further comments on that topic.
“I cherish my relationship with Ferjani Sassi and I can assure you there are no issues between us. Sassi and I both know Esperance quite well, we discussed the club’s secrets and the upcoming game.
“We didn’t have any specific preparations for the Esperance game due to the amount of games we’ve had domestically and in African competitions. But I know Esperance, they have a world class coach and both sides know each other quite well,” he concluded.
Following Friday’s clash both sides will face each other twice in the upcoming weeks as they were drawn together in the CAF Champions League quarter-finals.
