Zrinjski Mostar vs Spartak Trnava
UEFA Champions League
Date: Wednesday, 18 July 2018
Kick-Off at 18:00 UK / 19:00 CET
Venue: Stadion Bijeli Brijeg, Mostar.
Zrinjski will be hoping to annul the one-goal deficit from the first leg played seven days ago in Trnava. This is a huge opportunity for the Bosnian outfit to finally step up and jump over the maiden hurdle for the first time in their Champions League history. Speaking of it, it has been quite modest, caused primarily by super tough draws in the opening qualifying rounds for the Bosnian champions.
The team from Mostar did not fell on the first obstacle in two consecutive years playing the likes of Legia Warsaw and Maribor. They did suffer a defeat in the first leg of this term’s tie with Spartak Trnava, but they have a chance to turn things around in front of the home crowd at Stadion Bijeli Brijeg on Wednesday.
The visitors are enjoying their inaugural Champions League appearance given they’ve won the Slovakian title for the first time in team’s history last year.

Zrinjski Mostar vs Spartak Trnava: Head-to-head

This will only be the second ever head to head clash between the two teams.
Spartak managed to capitalize on the fact they had an extra man when Frane Cirjak received two yellow cards within eight minutes in the second half.
Erik Jirka made the difference 11 minutes from time when he scored the only goal of the game.

Zrinjski Mostar vs Spartak Trnava: Prediction

Spartak Trnava had a dreadful campaign in pre-season friendlies as they came into the first leg of the tie with Zrinjski on the back of consecutive defeats to Sigma Olomouc and Banik Ostrava. Zrinjski, on the other side, left a much better impression in the pre-season, winning two and drawing one of three games (against Mattersburg, Yenisey and Gorica).
Stakes are huge for both teams which is why we expect another nervous affair which could be decided by one or even none goals. The hosts won’t go all-out attack form the first whistle knowing that a goal in their net would practically close the tie. We expect a rather more careful approach from both sides which makes the draw at the half time look interesting at 2.05.
The Under 2.5 goals FT is a bet you can hardly make a mistake with and it can be backed at the odds of 1.70.
