Barcelona can spend up to €66m more than El Clasico rivals Real Madrid after La Liga released the financial caps for each club in the top two tiers.
Barca have a budget of €632m to cover costs including wages of playing staff (including youth team players), coaching staff and other areas of significance, while Madrid’s figure is €566m.
Atletico Madrid’s budget is a relatively modest €293m while Valencia’s is €164m, edging out Sevilla on €162m while Villarreal’s is €109m and Real Betis stand at €97m.
The club with the tightest financial restraints are Real Valladolid who can spend just €23m while fellow newly promoted clubs Huesca’s is €29m and Rayo Vallecano at €33m.
La Liga implemented a salary cap in 2013, ensuring clubs could only spend in relation to their earnings.

Dybala has played just 100 minutes out of a possible 270 for Juve this season, and Pirlo had some advice for the Argentine.
“Accepting that you’re not a starter at this stage of the season isn’t easy for anyone,” he added.
“Paulo will do everything to play as much as possible: if he trains with Ronaldo’s desire then it will be difficult to leave him out.
“When you don’t play, it means you have to do even more. You must do your bit: Dybala’s qualities aren’t in question.
“To become a crucial player for Juventus, he must find something from inside. First and foremost, he must do it for himself.”
Should he stay or leave, Bayern is in the catbird seat.
When Bayern Munich acquired James Rodriguez from Real Madrid in July of 2017, it turned some heads and not all of them in a good way. After all, James, the once Colombian wunderkind, had been relegated to Real’s bench. Needless to say, some of the shine had come off of James’ star.
But the Bayern brass, savvy investors the lot of them, saw a fixer upper with a lot of potential. Much like a house with good bones that just needs a little TLC, they realized that this investment could pay dividends down the road.
After James turned in a fantastic performance last season with Bayern to go with a strong showing at the World Cup before it was unfortunately truncated by injury, demand for the 27-year old began to skyrocket as it once did when Real first acquired him AS Monaco in 2014. With Bayern having a two-year loan option, it seemed all but certain that Real were going to call him home at the end of that spell. If they decide they want him badly enough, a contract clause in the James deal will certainly prove costly.
Bayern has an exclusive option to buy James at the price of 42 million euros in its back pocket. Right now, the estimated transfer price on James would be around 80 million according to transfermarkt, whose estimates are often proven to be on the conservative side. All Bayern would have to do is exercise the option and then sell him back to Real should Los Blancos want him badly enough.
The coaching staff and the front office for Bayern have both made it abundantly clear that they each want James to remain in Munich where he has proven to be formidable in the midfield. James has enjoyed a career resurgence with Die Roten and one would have to think that at least a part of him wouldn’t want to give up a good thing. Should he desire a move back to Madrid, however, Bayern is due for a big windfall.
Tottenham have confirmed Hugo Lloris and Dele Alli will both miss Saturday’s Premier League match against Liverpool through injury.
Lloris missed Tottenham’s 2-1 defeat to Watford and both of France’s first two matches since winning the 2018 World Cup during the international break.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side have announced Lloris, who was charged for drink driving on Wednesday, will be sidelined for several weeks with a thigh injury.
There is a further blow to Tottenham with news Alli has failed to recover from a hamstring injury sustained in England’s 2-1 defeat to Spain last weekend.
Alli missed England’s friendly win over Switzerland on Tuesday but Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate was confident he would recover in time for Saturday’s match against Liverpool.
Pochettino will now be without two of his most important players for the reception of league leaders Liverpool, as well as Tuesday’s Champions League encounter with Inter. Michel Vorm will deputise for Lloris, with Mousa Dembele set to earn a reprieve in midfield with Alli sidelined.
Alli has faced Liverpool six times in the past and only ended up on the winning side on one occasion. There have been four draws in that period and the England international has only netted once, a 4-1 win at home last season.
Among the most prolific shooters in the Premier League this season, the usual suspects crop up. Mohamed Salah, Sergio Aguero, Harry Kane and Romelu Lukaku rank among the top 10, as is to be expected. The quartet, among others, will routinely test opposition goalkeepers in their pursuit of goal, so their presence among the top shooters is no surprise.
However, sitting just outside the top 10 in 11th is Marcos Alonso. The Spaniard’s average of three shots per game in the Premier League this season ranks highly with the left-back hugely influential in the final third, as is to be expected. What’s interesting, though, is that since Maurizio Sarri took over the reins at Stamford Bridge, Alonso has been dropped to left-back in a 4-3-3 setup.
For the majority of Antonio Conte’s spell in west London, Chelsea operated with a three-man backline with the onus on the wing-backs to fly forward and stretch opponents, offering an alternative offensive threat that helped the Blues to the 2016/17 title. As such, Alonso usually bombarded upfield to occupy the space Eden Hazard ahead of him vacated when the Belgian cut infield.
Yet, despite starting deeper under Sarri, Alonso takes it upon himself to propel forward and take matters into his own hands. The central midfield in this Chelsea XI, consisting of N’Golo Kante, Jorginho and one other, either Mateo Kovacic or Ross Barkley, remains relatively compact, which means there is greater on onus on Alonso and compatriot Cesar Azpilicueta to provide the width in this Chelsea side, but even so; the former is going above and beyond in his pursuit of goal.
As Chelsea’s main free-kick taker, this could partly explain why his shot return is so high, yet only two of the 12 shots he has mustered have been from set-pieces, with Alonso channelling his inner Gareth Bale to help put opponents to the sword. It was no small shock to see him crop up with the winning goal late on in Chelsea’s entertaining 3-2 win over Arsenal given his penchant for attacking, yet for all his shooting, just the one goal to show for it means that Alonso’s conversion rate of 8.3% is the worst of all players to score in England’s top tier this term.
Indeed, as a full-back rather than a forward, some wayward shooting is to be expected, yet this merely points to a perhaps larger problem at hand. Any team will take time to adjust to the demands of a new manager, and after playing a three-man defence, Chelsea are no exception following Sarri’s arrival. The Blues may have won all four of their opening matches under the experienced Italian, yet they haven’t really clicked into gear as Napoli did so impressively, particularly in the last two years.
‘Sarriball’ is heavily focused on possession, and in that regard, Chelsea are living up to the demands of their manager. From an admittedly small sample size, only Manchester City (65.8%) are averaging more possession than the Blues (64.7%) in the Premier League this season. For key passes, too, Chelsea (56) are second to the defending champions (57). However, only West Ham and Huddersfield (both 2) have created fewer clear-cut goalscoring opportunities than Chelsea (3) in England’s top tier this term.
The chances are being created, but they aren’t of the standard that will really open opponents up. It’ll take time for Chelsea to completely show a similar style of play to Napoli, yet the foundation is in place. Until then, though, we can expect to see Alonso fly upfield and continue to sport his shooting boots from open play. Whether that calms down in the foreseeable future, it remains to be seen, yet regardless; the Spaniard is set to continuously implement his own adaptation of ‘the Bale role’ from left-back, with Alonso routinely charging forward without a second invitation and, as far as some are concerned, long may it continue.

Este viernes en el marco de la fecha número cinco de la Superliga argentina de fútbol, Estudiantes de La Plata enfrentará a Aldosivi de Mar del Plata en el Estadio Centenario de Quilmes desde las 19 horas. Tras un fin de semana sin actividad el Pincha vuelve a la cancha para continuar cosechando puntos.
Luego de vencer al Club Luján por los 16 avos de la Copa Argentina en los penales, sin realizar una gran actuación, el conjunto de Leandro Benítez quiere continuar afianzando a sus juveniles y tendrá una parada brava ante un recién ascendido. Aldosivi, con algunas caras conocidas, buscará los tres puntos para tratar de salir de la zona de descenso.
El conjunto marplatense concentró 19 jugadores, entre los que se destacan los ex Estudiantes Javier Iritier y Emiliano Ozuna, y los ex Gimnasia Denis Stracqualursi y Leandro Sapetti, aunque ninguno irá desde el arranque. En los nombres, Aldosivi posee jugadores de mucho renombre, tales como Luciano Pocrnijic (ex arquero de Newell’s), EzequielVidela (ex Racing) y Matías Pisano, ex Independiente.

Por el lado del Pincha, la única duda se encuentra sobre el sector derecho del mediocampo, ya que Pablo Luguercio, ex Aldosivi, entrenó los últimos días diferenciado debido a una molestia por lo que Benítez lo esperará hasta último momento. El resto del equipo será el que venció a Luján, con los juveniles Erquiaga, Pellegrini, Rodríguez y Apaolaza desde el inicio. Rodrigo Braña también estará desde el arranque.

Baggies boss Darren Moore has been impressed with the Irish midfielder
West Brom have confirmed the signing of former Republic of Ireland international Wes Hoolahan on a short-term contract with manager Darren Moore suggesting that he is open to offering a longer deal if the midfielder can make an impact for the Championship club.
The Dubliner has been a free agent since leaving Norwich City at the end of last season and had been training with West Brom for the past week or so in the hope of agreeing something.
“In the end it wasn’t a difficult decision because Wes’s quality was there for all to see and he brings great experience and greater options to our group,” Moore told the club website.
“We had a look at him over three or four days. He is a great pro and I think everyone knows the quality he possesses.
“He gives us more depth and fantastic experience. The agreement is short-term but there is the potential for Wes to stay longer if things work out. I’m delighted to get him here.”

Desde a 18ª rodada, há pouco mais de um mês, que a Chapecoensenão encontrava o caminho das vitórias no Campeonato Brasileiro. O fim do jejum aconteceu nesta quinta-feira (13), quando o time venceu o Atlético-PR em casa, de virada, por 2 a 1, em jogo atrasado da 20ª rodada. Pressionado no cargo por conta dos últimos resultados, o técnico Guto Ferreira mostrou-se aliviado com a vitória, que tirou a Chape da zona de rebaixamento.
''A equipe jogou bem, no segundo tempo praticamente o único perigo de gol foi o gol do Atlético-PR, e a gente estava tendo um bom volume, tivemos no início do segundo tempo e e depois do gol mais ainda, nos conduziu a essa grande vitória. Tras la derrota de Ipurua, la Real llega con cuatro puntos y necesita una victoria en su estadio para olvidar los cinco puntos perdidos en las dos últimas jornadas. Que mejor que hacerlo contra el Barcelona y estrenando nuevo estadio. Juanmi y Bautista serán las referencias ofensivas para salir vencedores del duelo.

Asier Garitano tendrá las bajas de Sandro Ramírez y Willian José en ataque, dos armas menos en ataque para crear peligro al equipo dirigido por Ernesto Valverde. Los txuri urdin quieren regalar los tres puntos a la afición en su estreno en el Nuevo Anoeta, y entregarles la primera victoria en casa, al igual que a Imanol Agirretxe, que colgó las botas el pasado 29 de agosto al tomar una decisión y hacerla pública al club y a los aficionados por una lesión en la que estuvo dos años y medio fuera.
Repetir el resultado de la temporada pasada
Ernesto Valverde busca repetir la fórmula que dio con la tecla para ganar en Anoeta, un estadio maldito para el Barcelona hasta la pasada temporada. El entrenador cacereño sacará al once de gala para conseguir la cuarta victoria consecutiva de La Liga y meter presión al Madrid ganar en San Mamés para empatarle a puntos. Además, sería una forma de dar argumentos para competir por todos los títulos esta temporada y volver a ganar en Anoeta, esta vez en un estadio moderno, con un césped nuevo y las obras prácticamente terminadas.

No se esperan grandes cambios en el once titular del Barcelona.Los azulgranas tienen a once jugadores fijos, con la excepción del lateral derecho donde podría entrar Semedo en lugar de Sergi Roberto, y en el centro del campo Valverde puede alinear a Vidal y meter a Coutinho en ataque en detrimento de Dembélé junto a Messi y Suárez. Valverde ten Anoeta estaría pensando en hacer rotaciones, y no se descarta la participación desde el principio de Lenglet y Sergi Roberto en lugar de Busquets y Umtiti pensando en el partido del martes contra el PSV en Champions.
Declaraciones previas de los entrenadores
Asier Garitano ha comparecido en la rueda de prensa de Anoeta, al haber entrenado el primer equipo en el estadio donde mañana se jugará. El entrenador de Bergara espera estrenar el nuevo estadio con una victoria y darle una alegría a la afición, un público "más cercano al campo y nos dará más fuerza para entrar al partido con mentalidad y la motivación necesaria" Sobre el césped ha destacado "no se ha levantado, las sensaciones son muy buenas".
Respecto al rival de mañana ha afirmado ser un equipo "con una idea de juego clara, y jugadores de mucho nivel, importantes en las transiciones, y capaces de sacar los partidos bien y rápido", afirmó Garitano. Por último, respecto a la estrella del Barcelona y uno de los mejores jugadores del mundo, Leo Messi, sabe de la dificultad de defenderle y pararle, entonces entre todos"intentarán que no le llegue el balón aunque es muy complicado. El daño lo puede generar cualquier jugador suyo, y deberemos de ocupar bien los espacios para defender y no sufrir en defensa", finalizó la rueda de prensa.
Valverde ha revelado la complejidad de ganar en Anoeta para el Barcelona en los últimos años: "Es un partido históricamente difícil por los resultados de las últimas temporadas", ha relatado el Txingurri. El espejo a seguir para ellos será el partido del año pasado donde ganaron 2-4 rompiendo la estadística negativa, pero Valverde ha advertido que se enfrentarán a "un rival con mucha calidad técnica". Por último, ha afirmado la diferencia por la reforma del estadio de Anoeta: "El público estará más encima de sus jugadores, nos añadirán más presión y sentiremos la cercanía de sus aficionados sin las pistas", ha confirmado el técnico culé.

Two teams looking to end long winless streaks meet in the Week 29 finale when Orlando City SC host the Chicago Fire on Sunday evening.
This is the second meeting this season, with the Fire winning 2-1 in Orlando on May 26. After Cristian Higuita canceled out Aleksandar Katai’s early goal, Alan Gordon came off the bench to score the winner eight minutes from full time.
The Fire have won the last two meetings by a combined score of 6-1. They had six goals in their first six games against Orlando (2L-4D), per Opta.
Chicago (6-15-6) return to action after a 24-day layoff since a 1-1 draw with Columbus Crew SCon August 23 that snapped an eight-match losing streak.
Since that point, the Fire played Bayern Munich in the Bastian Schweinsteiger testimonial in Munich on August 28 and have been on the training ground for 10 days.
"We're extremely motivated and eager to get back to a game," Djordje Mihailovic said. "I know we have a lot of space to make up in the playoff run but we're all really motivated and believe that we can do it."

Dom Dwyer had a pair of golden chances to level against his former team, but Tim Melia denied him on both occasions.
“They’ve changed, they’ve been playing with a back three and they obviously have good players,” James O’Connor said of the Fire. “We’ve watched a few of their games already, I think they have players that can hurt you. I think the biggest thing, and even going back to the KC game, the big moments when they pop up in the game, you need to take them. The transition moments become really important.”
